Whew – we were made to sweat in every game – I probably lost a good couple of pounds of water weight just from that Flyers-Penguins game – but it was all worth it in the end, with a perfect 3-0 night!
We had the Wild to win and it was a battle. Backstrom going off was a concern but the Wild pounded the goal of Bernier and finally slipped it in, then won the shootout to give us the first win of the night.
In the final game – well to paraphrase Jay-Z; I got 99 power plays but a goal ain’t one. Holy crap is the Stars power play line bad. Thankfully it didn’t matter as they got a goal in the 2nd period, then wrapped it up with an empty netter and an additional goal at the end.
And the big one – the Philadelphia Flyers to beat the Pittsburgh Penguins! Huge game with 3.00 odds and it was nerve-wracking – especially when the Penguins pulled the goalie – but Philly held out for a massive win.
Great night of hockey and a great night of bets. Love it.
It’s Thursday, November 14th 2013 and let’s get on with tonights NHL Betting Tips. We have 7 games on the board, with most games being incredibly tight. Based on that, we only have two tips. We talked for over an hour this morning and just can’t separate some of these teams nor find many betting opportunities. Either way, there’s going to be some quality hockey tonight.
Islanders vs Kings: Dependent on Tavares
Islanders are fairly solid at home, and usually keep things close. Quick is out for LA which is bad news, and they can’t help but be down after that game against the Sabres. Islanders looked very solid against the Predators and we’re getting great odds of 2.05 at Bovada for Americans and http://www.Bet365.com for everyone else..
However the big question is John Tavares. He didn’t practice yesterday, and we’re unsure how he is going to be doing today. As of this writing, there is no news on whether or not he will play.
So we suggest you wait. Wait to see if Tavares is playing – we’ll make sure to write about it on Twitter and Facebook once we know, and then you can place the bet. Otherwise you can roll with the dice and hope the Islanders beat the Kings without him.
Blackhawks vs Coyotes: Over 5.5
Phoenix have been performing very well this season, and this is a great chance for them to leap over the Hawks in the West. Chicago however are well-rested and have been on a great run at the moment after a slow start to the season.
Either team can win this game, but we like a fast-paced offensive game from both teams and this is our pick for Game of the Night.
Enjoy the hockey and we’ll post about Tavares later this afternoon.
