A 2-1 night last night. We’re now 16-6 for February. Things have been pretty darn good post all-star break, and hopefully it continues.

Our loss of the night was the Anaheim Ducks who blew a 2 goal lead against the Blue Jackets and allowed them to get back into it. The Jackets then managed to take the game in a shootout.

We won with the Over in Kings vs Islanders. Yesterday I had mentioned I was relying solely on my betting system for that one so I was a tad nervous to say the least. Thankfully the Islanders had a big first period to put my mind at rest and it was at least a push by the end of the 2nd, and went over by 2 goals.

We also won with the Capitals over the Wild. That was a tight one. I mentioned yesterday I was concerned that the Wild could come to play. They got fired up in the second half of the game but fortunately for us Ovechkin was playing well – like Ovechkin – and a hat trick for him made it very difficult for the Wild to come back. You know too that something like that would force the Capitals to play out of their skin – who wants to score a hat trick and end up on the losing side?

7 games on the board let’s get to the betting tips for today:

Kings vs Rangers Betting Tips:

The LA Kings are going to be without Jonathan Quick tonight and that’s a big loss. We saw what that was like last night as the Islanders started fast and put pressure on Enroth right from the beginning.

The Rangers are of course missing Nash as well as McDonagh for the last couple of games but that hasn’t stopped them. Lundqvist has stepped up big time to help them at his end including blanking out the Penguins.

Rangers have won 4 straight. I’m hesitant to say they are back on their early season form – but the faster Rick Nash comes back for them, the better. If he comes back within the next couple of games I could see another big winning streak coming from them.

Kings will fight hard but that loss last night is a massive confidence bust for them in terms of winning without Quick.

Canadiens vs Sabres Betting Tips:

These two played just 9 days ago and Buffalo won 4-2 in Montreal. Now in Buffalo the Habs will be out for revenge.

The Habs are starting to slowly turn things around and this is a massive game for them because they’ve won at home but can they win at away? This is a great opportunity against a Buffalo Sabres team who have been absolutely horrendous at home.

I must admit I’m very surprised at just how heavily favoured the Habs are here in this game. I like it to be a competitive affair. While the Sabres offense can be hit and miss and have the worst goals per game at home, and the Habs offense is still just waking up from their Thanksgiving meals – I think this one will have enough goals in it with both teams desperately wanting the win.

Over 5 Goals.

Panthers vs Blues Betting Tips:

I’m going to rely 100% on a system pick again today because much like yesterdays – it feels very strongly about this specific game.

It likes Panthers -1.5 over the St. Louis Blues. It specifically suggests Panthers to win 3-1 if you want to place a bet on the correct score too. 15.00 odds for that at Bet365 (Americans: We recommend http://www.bovada.lv.

It could be completely off base – if you want to play it safer the Panthers odds of winning including overtime/shootout are great. Your call.

Anyway we’ve been looking at the other games and just can’t pull the trigger and are starting to overthink them. Avs Under seems appealing but just can’t get fully behind it. You’d think the Lightning would return to form at home – but I dunno, we’ve watched their last 2 road games and have to wonder if that will really help.

Panthers -1.5 odds.

FL ML — Love the FL pick. St Louis has just been terrible on offense lately. Elliott cannot do it alone.
If Lehner goes for the Sabres, we may see a record of goals scored in this game.
Kings ML — I have been back and forth on the Kings vs Rangers. You can make great cases for both sides. Kings had a letdown after that scoring binge against Boston, and fell to Isles. Has Quick been ruled out? We now know Raanta will be in net for NY as the Rangers decided to rest Lundqvist. But I think this is where the Kings have the edge and Rangers’ wining streak ends at four.
Tampa in Reg — Bolts are terrific at home and need to atone for two straight road losses. Preds have been very shaky. Rinne’s play could cost his team’s chances of missing the playoffs. One trend to note: Nashville is 1-9 straight up on the front end of a back-to-back (they play FL Saturday).

If you expect a tight game between Buffalo and Montreal 1-1
or 2-2 is quite frequent before OT. I picked Montreal instead bold after 3-0 yesterday with Washington, Boston and over Columbus-Anaheim

Still Like the Rangers to win… but be careful… Raanta is in Net tonight for the Rangers… maybe goals is the best option

That was weird night. ?

Canadiens ML (i think OT is very likely)
Kings
Penguins ML
Red Wings
Predators
Blues

Also think the Flames are more likely to win than the Coyotes and the odds are great but i just cant make myself pull the trigger, probably because the Coyotes played great in their last game and the Flames lost a 4-1 lead yesterday.

Im quite shocked the Panthers are so favored around here tonight. Without Barkov, Gudbranson and Mitchell they’re by far the inferior team even if Blues are missing Pietrangelo. Also Schwartz back for Blues giving them one of the best forward groups/depth in the league. I know the Blues haven’t been too great lately but they have seemed to respond pretty well after losing, the problem has been putting together 2 great games. Blues are very motivated for this game and whenever the much better team lineup will come to play that’s bad news for the opponent.

Well anyway, good luck !

Interesting night. At first glance it looks pretty juicy, but the more I
look into it there are actually some tough battles here.

I would
have to say I like the 3 tips given today. All sound pretty
reasonable, the only one I’m wondering about is the Panthers at -1.5
with Barkov missing. How much of an effect will he have?

I like the RANGERS to win tonight too. The loss of Quick is just too hampering and the Kings are using 2nd/3rd string goalies for a while here and the Rangers are making a determined push in the standings.

I like the Penguins to beat Carolina, but with the exception of a 5-0 blow-out, the rest of the games have been close and all under 5-1/2. I think that trend will continue and am going with the UNDER.

I know Graeme is always hesitant to pick his team to win, but as mentioned, the Habs will be looking for revenge and Scrivens is playing very well. Go with the CANADIENS.

Avs/Wings is a tough game to call. Wings are strong at home and the Avs have been decent in big games lately. I don’t feel confident about this game, but based purely on value I am going with the UNDER.

Tampa is always a strong contender at home (I love that space suit guy) and as mentioned, Nashville has been hurting lately. Decent value on the LIGHTNING so I’ll go with them.

I really like the PANTHERS at home and as I felt with McDavid having a good game, Jagr is soooo close to Hull’s number that I think he is going to be motivated on this home stand. Maybe he pots a couple tonight?

Calgary and Arizona is another tough one to call. Based purely on how crazy they went last night, I think the Flames are going to play this one as a bit of a grinder and bunker down. I’m going with the UNDER.

As always … good luck!

4-3 … saved by the over/unders
