Well the Penguins didn’t struggle for goals yesterday despite the absence of Malkin, but they struggled big time defensively against Florida. The Penguins just had no answer for the Florida power-play lineup, which destroyed them with a whopping 4 goals scored on the power-play. Yikes. Teams are going to be playing a lot softer against the Panthers! Speaking of injuries – it’s looking like Rick Nash may be back in the lineup soon and he’s needed – the absence of his leadership has the Rangers skating around like a bunch of headless chickens!

Tonight we’ve got four games on the board, and most eyes will be on the Toronto game as the Leafs host the Habs. We’ve also got the Flyers and Capitals, both picking up some wins recently, going head to head. The Ducks take on the Predators and the Red Wings visit the LA Kings.

On with the February 27th, 2013 NHL Betting Tips:

Grand Salami: Under 21.5 Goals

When you bet the Grand Salami, you’re betting on the amount of goals scored in that day. So we are betting that with all the goals combined in the 4 games played today, when you total them up they will be UNDER 21.5 goals.

This bet is available at Pinnacle Sports, one of the top sportsbooks for Canadians.

Just look at the four games tonight. Do YOU see a lot of goals? Habs vs Leafs will most likely be a low-scoring affair – especially with Bourque missing for the Habs. The Predators have one of the lowest combined goals for/against averages in the league, and most of their games are low scoring affairs. Red Wings vs LA Kings will probably hit the 5 goal mark, but I can’t see it being higher than that. And both the Capitals and Flyers have looked a lot more solid defensively.

Tonight has snooze-fest written all over it; let’s profit off a boring night by betting the Grand Salami at Pinnacle.

Habs vs Leafs Betting Tips: Leafs To Win

We’re getting surprisingly even odds on this one – both the Habs and Leafs are -110 to win at 5Dimes.

Look – I’m a Habs fan, but we’ve been struggling this year against the Ontario teams. Toronto has had our number in the previous two occasions and BOTH those games were in Montreal. AND we are missing Bourque. Sorry, but we should be underdogs in this one, and the Leafs should be about -130 or even -140.

This is a line set up for the betting public – who usually don’t care about odds and will bet on the game based on their team. Habs vs Leafs games always have a lot of bets. Rip up your pro line slip with the crappy odds, and head on over 5Dimes to bet on the Leafs to win. And yes – I really hate saying that.

Capitals vs Flyers Betting Tips: Under 5.5

Another line that I think is poorly researched. You just have to take one look at the resurgence of the Capitals to see why – they’ve tightened up big time defensively. 2 weeks ago? I’d be tipping the over. But both these teams have been solid in the back end lately and I see that continuing here.

This line should be 5. Getting it at the 5.5, AND with great odds of +110 over at the World Bet Exchange makes this bet a steal.
