We had a great winning night last night going 2-1. Penguins/Caps almost got the Grand Salami on their own, with a 6-3 thriller.

My Habs continue to wrack up the Ws, with a great victory over the visiting Senators.

Tonight is interesting. A lot of tight games with the Canucks taking on the Oilers, and the Leafs taking on the Hurricanes.

Hurricanes vs Leafs: Bet Leafs To Win

My first betting tip of the evening is my top betting tip of the day – which is the Toronto Maple Leafs to beat the Carolina Hurricanes.

Both these teams have looked solid during the season so far, but this is the type of must-win game and the home advantage will be enough to help the Leafs take it. I was expecting the odds to be around -145 but Pinnacle Sports has the odds at -110 for the Leafs to win which is a great price.

Hurricanes have goaltender problems at the moment – hell Ellis went 2 years without a shutout before the one last week. Ward has been okay – but the Leafs should be able to expose them. Toronto also recorded big wins against Buffalo and Washington lately, so I’m really loving them.

Avalance vs Stars: Bet Avalanche -1.5

For those new to handicap betting – we’re going to be betting the Colorado Avalanche win this game by at least 2 goals. Basically they’re starting the game with a -1.5 handicap.

Handicap betting is available at Titan Bet which is where we’re betting this one – a big +225 for the Avs to win by at least 2 goals here.

This is a big game for Colorado, with Hejduk hitting the 1k mark. Things like that always help a team morale wise. They’re also taking on a Dallas Stars team who have been TANKING lately. Just 1 point in their last 5 outings? Yikes. The Avs haven’t yet lost this season at home and they aren’t going to do it here – Parenteau will make sure of that.

So go with the -1.5 at Titan Bet.

Sharks vs Ducks: Under 5.5

My final NHL betting tip for February 4th, 2013 is for the San Jose Sharks and the Anaheim Ducks to go under 5.5 goals, meaning the game will have 5 goals or less in it at the end of regulation time.

The best odds on this one are at Pinnacle. Everywhere else is -125 but Pinnacle have it at -119 – go see for yourself.

The Sharks picked up their first loss of the season on the weekend, but they’ll be looking to tighten up adefensively and Niemi has been super hot – one of the best goaltenders of the season so far. The Sharks secondary also can’t seem to score to save their lives which is good – this is going to be a tight game that will possibly go all the way to the shootout.

Either way – it’ll be a 2-4 goal game with 5 at the max, and that’s why we’re betting the under.
