It’s hard to belive it but we are already past the halfway point of the season.

And when you look at the standings there are some teams who we didn’t expect to be out of the playoff race at this point in the season.

In the West the Predators and Stars are out but are within reach and in last place in the Conference and the League is the Colorado Avalanche.  It’s only a matter of time before the Avs start making moves to better themselves in the future with this season all but lost.

In the East the Lightning and Red Wings are on the outside and in the basement are the Islanders.  All teams still have a shot at the postseason but they have some work to do. The Islanders made some moves in the offseason  but they just havent worked out for them. And the Maple Leafs are in which I didn’t expect.  It seems this rebuild is moving along at a faster pace than expected.  But there is still plenty of time for the Leafs to mess this up.

For today there is 8 games.  Let’s get to the tips.

Avalanche vs Ducks Betting Tips:

The Avalanche are having a rough go and I can’t see them winning this game.  They’re on a 3 game losing streak and are 2-8 over their last 10.  As I said above, there is going to be some roster moves made soon.

The Ducks have had a great start to 2017 with 7 wins in 9 games.  And they’re at home in this one where they have a strong record.  With their play of late they have moved into 1st place in the Pacific Division and 3rd in the West.

When the Ducks win they seem to do it by more than one goal.

Stars vs Islanders Betting Tips:

The last 10 games between these teams have averaged 7.60 GPG.

The last 4 games for the Stars have had goal totals of: 14, 5, 9 and 7. The last 3 for the Islanders: 4, 11 and 7.  The 4 was a 4-0 win against the Bruins.

They both are near the bottom of the league in goals allowed.  Both teams have lots of ground to make up and they should be going all out for this one.  And with the coaching change for the Isles we may see a more competitive team.

I like the Ducks handicap, might as well throw in the Wild-1.5 as well. I am thinking about the Caps ml, and/or o5 for that game, and Isles ml. What you think?

NHL Daily Tips

Agree with you on the Caps ML. But I seriously doubt Isles ML. The match can go both way, but I think the Stars looks soo good at offence right now.
PS: McDavid scored last night 😉

Norbert Buzási

Yes, you got that one! Obviously, the Isles pick is the weakest, but I believe they’ll win even without Boychuk. They are scoring goals now, after scoring 3 combined against the Avs, Yotes and Panthers.

I’m telling you, Matthews is going to score tonight. 🙂

NHL Daily Tips

Haha. I agree with you. Matthews or Parise would be my pick tonight if would choose a goalscorer 🙂

Nice! GL!

slyNHL

NYR draw no bet.
Thoughts?
Cant lose 4 in reg in a row.
And still have chances due to good atack line…

Thomas Andersen

None of the goalies are in form. But with the experience of Lundqvist he might “bounce back”. I gamble that he don´t.

NHL Daily Tips

1-0 last night and two push

Very similar thoughts and have nearly identical bets. I’m confident we will pick up many units tonight.

what2bet.net

with you guys on the Dallas Stars/NYI over 5.5
Wash/stlouis over 5
NYR/Leafs over 1.5 1st period.

Good luck 2nite guys

Thomas Andersen

Stars- Islanders – wich “O” ? Last nigh I had 4,5 for over 7,5. Just look at the statistics. But statistics is newer in lineup. But IF I would gamble, I would let statistics be in my team.

Can’t make mind up on a selection Wild -1 or NYR game under 6.5??

Henry Del Valle Sr.

Wild. I have a strange feeling Rangers game could be a 3-2 affair. But more confident in Minny just destroying AZ.

Henry Del Valle Sr.

NYI/Dallas Over 5.5
ANAHEIM in reg
Anaheim -1.5
Minny in Reg
Minny-1.5
Columbus in Reg
Washington ML
Washington TT Over 2.5

Leans: Sharks, Leafs

Lots to like tonight!

What a poop night. Columbus really? Make Condon look like Dubnyk tonight. They put 42 shots on the Sens but Bjs snoozed thru the 1st two periods. Raise your hand if you thought Ottawa was capable of beating two decent teams back to back on the road? Nobody? That’s what I figured.

And NYI went 0-for-30 on thenPower Play against Dallas? Horrible.

I would not go for the Ducks tonight. It’s a feel good game for them, something we’ll start seeing more as the season goes on and as more teams are dropping out of the race.

Ducks have been relying on their tight defensive game and red-hot Gibson in net. They’ve only scored 2 regulation goals in their last 2 games and didn’t really have the better of the chances either. Sure, they had those clean wins on the road vs Yotes and Avs before that, but it’s quite the optimal situation to score when you’re on the road against weak teams and your goalie is hot.

I suspect they let up on D a bit tonight as the Avs are quite a big drop-off from playing the Blues and Bolts. Colorado got their offense going in their last game and have put up 6 goals in their last 2 games, so if you play sloppy and give them chances they can bury them.

If the Ducks get on to a slow start and even fall behind, with their offensive struggles it’s going to be a long night.

Im probably going to bet some on the OT at a solid 4.50 price, but i wouldn’t even be surprised if the Avs got the jaw-dropping upset and beat them in regulation (1st since Dec 11th).

Other games i like:

Islanders TT O3.5 (incl. OT)
Rangers TT O3.5 (incl. OT)
Caps ML
Preds-Flames OT
Bolts ML

Sorry to say but you’re having a bit of a tough time with the tips of late – ouch!! Do you look to change tactics a little?

Graeme (BetNHL.ca)

Yeah it’s a weird season – the only consistent thing about it is a lot of teams complete lack of consistency. There won’t be any drastic changes made during the season but it’s something we’ll look into during the off-season. In the meantime we’re obviously looking at our past picks and non-picks over the season and seeing where we’re going right/wrong and attempting to adjust our picks accordingly. It’s an interesting season.

I’m getting 2.40 on ML Hawks @ Bruins….sounds good to me
