We won our only tip yesterday.

We went with over 6 in the Islanders vs Devils game and as was expected, this was a great game.  They traded goals through the first 2 periods and both scored twice in the 3rd.  In the end it was the Isles winning 5-4 in a shootout.

The Bruins vs Penguins game was another amazing game.  It was 3-1 Penguins after the 1st and 5-4 Bruins after the 2nd.  But the Pens scores in the 3rd to tie it and force OT where Malkin scored his 2nd of the game for the 6-5 Pittsburgh win.

The Habs put together a rare win streak when they scored 3 times in the 3rd to beat the Canucks 5-2.

The Blackhawks beat the Oilers 4-1.  For Hawks goalie Anton Forsberg this was the first regulation win of his career.  This was Chicago’s first win on home ice since December 17th.

There is only one game today the Columbus Blue Jackets vs the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Blue Jackets vs Maple Leafs Game Thoughts :

We have discussed this game and there is nothing we both like.

Both teams are struggling at the moment.
The Jackets sit in 3rd place in the Metro but are 4-4-2 over their last 10 games.  The Leafs are in 3rd in the Atlantic and are 5-4-1 over their last 10 and when you look at their 2 game winning streak it makes their last 10 look even worse.

The Jackets are 6-4 over the last 10 games against the Leafs but that dates back before all the young stars the Leafs now have.

Just a really tough game to call.

No Tip but be sure to read the comments and join in on the discussion.

I just forgot sorry but here is the proof 🙂

Greetings everyone. Fortunately my thoughts on the Bolts-Red Wings over and Knights ML came in. I bet big on these both as singles and a parlay and they erased my week’s deficit for a small plus for last week.

I’m taking the over for tonight’s game even though the under has been trending for both teams. My reasoning is this: Both teams are pressing for points to keep their playoff positions. They know every game counts and that the Rangers and Pens are nipping at their heels. These are two fast teams who make a lot of shot attempts and with Korpisalo likely in net for the CBJ I think TML wins by a score of 4-2.

HUGE game in college football today between SEC rivals Alabama and Georgia. After last week’s games I think Alabama wins by a touchdown or more. The line is anywhere from -3.5 to -5 Alabama and if you can get it on the low side I would be all over it.

Wish I’d have managed to tail you on Bolts. They owe me after dropping back to back games. Think after the Knights taking another win last night I have to proclaim I am now a knights/Bruins fan. Both teams have just been good to my bank account and look like teams not groups of individuals. I really enjoy ice hockey, and haven’t backed a team, so think it’s time I chose one lol.

LendoD

Like many, I’m surprised by VGK. I thought they’d flop, then they started winning.
Then I thought “they’ll flop soon”, then they carried on winning.

Now I’m thinking “maybe they’ll do it?!”

Oliver Trigg

I’m going to take a bet they win the playoffs. They’re the best team in the NHL no doubt right now.

SanDiegoBruinsD

Ha! Another one on the Knights wagon. After the Bruins, they are certainly my favorite team in the league. Not only are they a bunch of misfits and cast-offs from other teams–the definition of underdogs–but their TV play-by-play announcer (Dave Goucher) is a familiar voice from Bruins radio and their TV color guy is Shane Hnidy who had a cup of coffee with the Bruins. He’s a great dresser by the way and giving Don Cherry a run for his money. I love the way they play: they bring a compete level of 11 every night, they’re fast, big and physical. They don’t give up on the puck and provide great puck support in both ends. A few weeks ago I suggested here that you take them to win the conference and the Stanley Cup. I know the Stanley Cup is a stretch but they can easily win the Conference and the odds are still good.

LendoD

Can’t help but be biased towards the Leafs tonight.
Being a TML supporter (yeah, I know..) I’ve got to have optimism, I think TML will do ok. The forwards will need to click – and fast – with at least two early goals.

CBJ are no pushover even though last 10 games looks pretty bad.

ML and Reg odds just don’t look favourable however.

SanDiegoBruinsD

regulation isn’t bad at -110 on my site

LendoD

1.76 on mine.

Which I think translates to -131.5 ???

Matthew

Mine got up to 1.94

SanDiegoBruinsD

Cashed yesterday with Knights, Jets, Hawks. Unfortunately caps only managed an OT win and Bruins after making a wonderful comeback squandered their lead and and opportunities. Yesterday was a really shitty personal day for me, so at least something went rightish. I didn’t get a look at any of the games, and would have added another tip had my mind been in the right place. I’ll say this now, in case I forget to again – when Jets play at home take the team total over 3.5; Jets have now scored 4 or more goals in 17 of their last 21 games at home which is crazy. I took it the other day, but just didn’t even think last night. On to a very quiet day-

Under 5.5 CBJ v Leafs – This is at even odds which is strange to me. I don’t usually play totals but with little else to choose from I’ll take this. 4 of the last 5 of Leafs home games have gone under and 3 of the last 5 of Jackets have too. Both teams just seem to be lacking on the offense lately. I won’t play this large at all, but just something for fun.

POTD- Leafs ML/Reg (65%/60%) – I very nearly took Jackets here. I actually typed out Leafs, then Jackets and now finally decided on Leafs. Why? Jackets have dominated Leafs over the years, and are great value tonight. They managed a surprise 2-1 win against Dallas; but at the end of the day are still 1-7 in their last 8 whilst Leafs are 5-1 in their last 6 at home. Jackets are conceding 3.08 goals a game on average, and are without key players tonight. Although Leafs are juiced high tonight, they are almost fully healthy and if there is a spot for them to end the Jackets success over them it’s now. Toronto also come into this with more rest than the Jackets and that has to count for something. With the potential Leafs have and the injuries and fragilities of the Jackets right now, I would rather take the juice and hope I see the Leafs that beat the Canes 8-1 show up tonight. Lay the price, Jackets aren’t worth it even at the large underdog price.

GL!

Matthew

Took TML reg as there is no value in ML. Also trying a small bet on Matthews to score.

Oliver Trigg

I think reg is fine.

LendoD

+1 on all points raised. Sufficient for me to back TML. You wrote what I was thinking.

SanDiegoBruinsD

OT, I almost took the under as well on tonight’s game. But in drilling down further I see that these teams are among the league’s leaders in shot attempts AND shot against attempts. This all translates into a lot of shots tonight and I’m hoping that at least 6 get past the goalies, one of whom will almost certainly be a back-up.

I agree that TML should end up on top tonight. You saw with the Bruins last night how gassed a team can be in the final period/OT after a B2B. Even though they are young, CBJ will have tired legs and will be playing in a tough barn. TML on the other hand will be rested, are healthy and playing their first string goalie. Yes, TML will end up with a W. The odds don’t warrant a bet on ML so I’m going with regulation (1u).

Oliver Trigg

I’ve only played it reg. Agreed nothing on ML.

Oliver Trigg

I still feel like this is max a 3-2 game. My call is Leafs win 3-1. These are two sides who struggle to score goals against the likes of the Canucks and Avalanche. Jackets getting shut out by Bernier? Really?

Arto Reinikainen

Im not going to try and talk you out of the Vegas cup bet, but just wanted to point out that anything you do up until March doesn’t mean anything come playoff time. If i were you i’d wait and see how they do then and pull the trigger if still felt like it. I doubt their odds are going to come down, seeing as they’re already one of the top teams based on the odds.

Just last year we had Minnesota and Columbus looking like world beaters at this time, beating everybody left and right. Their records were equivalent to what Tampa and Vegas have right now. Both got bounced in the 1st round.

There’s so many good teams not playing to their potential, raising their level up a notch when it’s crunch time. For example Nashville exactly a year from now were 1 point above .500. Blues and Ducks were just okay with +7 and +8 respectively. To put this into perspective, we already have numerous teams well over +10.

Those 3 teams were the hottest teams the last couple months and did well in the playoffs.

There’s also the trade deadline that can have a big affect on what’s going to happen. And who knows what Vegas does then and how it’ll impact the team.

Just trying to point out that being patient doesn’t hurt, i’ve learnt it the hard way 😀

Kukkonen

Can’t regret betting Vegas over 2 months ago with a small stake just for fun 😛

Oliver Trigg

Completely worth it for that return.

Mojo

Yeah for sure, might as well throw $50 or so on it, if you believe in it…might as well make it count

magus1349

Marner to score with 2 units.

Eduardo Caldeira

For me its a -5.5 goals today and as S & G referred they are both struggling so I think 6 goals wont be the case … will be hoping on that today

Sacha-raphael Gagne

Going with the leafs in reg .

And a just for fun bet 1/4u on mitch marner to score

Geir Aage R Jensen

N. Kadri to score with 3 units
Under 5.5 with 2.5 units

Jayus

Another great night yesterday. The trebles hit for a great 6.86 odds and 2 of the 3 singles as well! The only single that didn’t hit is the NBA bonus one – there Miami only won by a single point and didn’t cover the -3.5 AH. But a great night overall.

For the single NHL game tonight I like the Maple leafs to win and over 5.5. But the 5.5 has more value in it so I’m taking that one.

Bonus NBA tip :
I really like the way the Raptors are playing, they’re playing with pace and determination ever game. The Nets have played well at home in recent games as well and everyone is tipping for them to challenge the Raptors in this one but they’re due a thrashing so I’m going for the Raptors -7.

As per usual for my trebles parlay:
Leafs -1.5 Puck Line, NO Pelicans -3.5, Raptors -4.5 (6.41 odds)

LendoD

BOBROVSKY STARTS!!

Juri Safoshin

Will try X, draw, small fun bet.

Leafs are at home, their win is more probable, but the odd is too low for their current performance.

Matthew

Oh wow…

Juri Safoshin

Hope someone has followed by tip and became rich.
