Wow that was a close night but in the end we went 2-0 with the betting tips.

We had over 5.5 in the Lightning vs Penguins game and we won when the Crosbyless Penguins won 4-2. Lightning goalie Ben Bishop left the game after the first period with a lower body injury and did not return.

Our other win came when we tipped the Buffalo Sabres to continue their hot streak against the Ottawa Senators. This was a crazy game. The Sabres led 3-1 only to let the Sens back into it. But it was Buffalo who came away with the 5-4 win in a shootout.

The other game of the night saw the Islanders beat the Devils 3-2 also in a shootout.

A nice full schedule tonight with 11 taking place. The Kings vs Blues should be a good, tight game. The Leafs will face a tough test against the Ducks where the Leafs are looking to push their winning streak to 6 games. Overall an awesome night of hockey.

And the most unsurprising news ever, the Edmonton Oilers have fired their coach Dallas Eakins. It was only a matter of time as the Oilers are horrible and its usually the coach who is the first to get the axe. This team needs a complete overhaul. Their rebuild hasn’t amounted to anything and they need a new approach.

Let’s get to the NHL betting tips for Tuesday, December 16th

Capitals vs Panthers Betting Tips

Both teams have had up and down starts to the season but it looks as though the Caps are starting to gain traction and now sit in third place in the Metro Division.

I think the Panthers have over achieved so far even though they sit in the middle of the Atlantic Division they should be much lower.

Capitals Win for 1.80 betting odds at http://www.5Dimes.eu for Americans(Need to register to see lines) and and http://www.Bet365.com for everyone else.

Lightning vs Flyers Betting Tips

The Lightning still lead the league in goals scored so as always when they face a team with weaker goaltending they could blow up.

The Flyers are going to be taking on Evgeni Nabokov after the Lightnings starting goalie, Ben Bishop, left yesterday’s game with a lower body injury.

The last time these teams played it was the Lightning winning 4-3. So let’s hope for more of the same in this one

Over 5.5 in the Lightning vs Flyers game for 1.77 betting odds at Bovada for Americans and http://www.Bet365.com for everyone else.

Oilers vs Coyotes Betting Tips

The Oilers are bad, really really bad. So it finally happened, and it should have much sooner in the season, and they fired their coach

Teams seem to respond in the games after a coach gets fired are the Oilers going to follow suit?

Well they are taking on a team that has had their own share of struggles this season the Phoenix Arizona Coyotes. They sit right above the Oilers in the standings for the last two spots in the Western Conference.

I like the Oilers to come out and give their best effort of the season in this one.

Oilers Win for 2.35 at http://www.5Dimes.eu for Americans(Need to register to see lines) and and http://www.Bet365.com for everyone else.

Thinking of picking up the leafs for a nice Toronto -1.0 Alternate Puckline 2.42 units. Anaheim still has lots of sick players, toronto can play good vs the ducks and they have 2 weak teams after this match. Also thinking of picking up the Over on Grand Salami, as there are a lot of shooting teams playing vs fail defence tonight and should be a lot of scoring. Any comments?

BetNHL.ca

Could see 1 goal being in it – but might be worth rolling the dice on Leafs winning by 2 at those odds. Over looks good too(on that game).

Think Salami will be tight. Bookies have 6 of the games set at 5. Our projections have it falling just short.

What do you guys think of this pick?

Buffalo vs. Winnipeg – December 16, 2014 – 8:00 PM

Pick: Your pick will be graded at sportsinteraction @ -210 Winnipeg

Expert: xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Evaluation: Dec 16 – 8:00 PM

Reason For Pick:

I am playing on WINNIPEG. The Jets are a very hungry favorite in this spot and I expect them to roll over the outclassed Sabres.

I will give full credit to the Sabres who are fighting their tails off during an unexpected winning streak. Note that the streak has included all home games.

Buffalo is 4-9 on the road this season and Winnipeg will be a tough spot for them.

It has been tough sledding against Winnipeg for Buffalo the past few years. Buffalo is 1-7-1 with 11 goals scored in the series since Jan. 7, 2012. It’s been especially bad in Winnipeg, where the Sabres are 0-4-0 with three goals scored since the Jets relocated.

Not helping matters for Buffalo is their 4-8 record versus non-conference teams.

Winnipeg meanwhile is heated off a big conference showdown with Anaheim on Saturday and will be looking to take it out on the Sabres.

The Jets will figure to have Ondrej Pavelec in net who has dominated the Sabres in this career and is hot in general. He hasn’t lost in regulation since Nov. 23 and has a 2.44 GAA over the 2-0-2 stretch. Against Buffalo, he’s got a 1.38 GAA during a 7-1-0 run.

There have been a few teams that have underestimated the Sabres in their barn which has led to a nice winning streak for Buffalo. I don’t expect that to happen here with a well coached Jets team at home.

Winnipeg is 9-3 versus teams with a losing record this season and 6-1 on Tuesday nights.

Winnipeg is the big favorite for a reason here and I don’t mind laying the big juice to get the high percentage play. Play WINNIPEG straight up as my 6* Big Juice Personal Favorite.

BetNHL.ca

Like the Jets – but not at those odds. I mean they’re well rested and all but just too much juice on that one. Think if Jets win they win big – so the handicap or even in regulation is much more appealing. Laying that much juice in NHL is just asking for trouble.

Mojo

Thinking of going with the Habs on the puckline (-1.5) and parlaying it with a Red Wing win. And then on a smaller bet going with the Leafs to cover the (+1.5) at home parlayed with a Nashville win, Chicago win, and Tampa/Philly Over. Thoughts?

BetNHL.ca

We like the Habs. Sent a regulation time win tip out for social networking actually. Detroit on their own odds are poor, but adding to parlay is fine. We’ve actually bet on that game going to OT at 4.00. Think that’s fine value – but Wings should probably win.

Other parlay looks good as well.

Mojo

Thanks for the feedback. I actually recently just started betting and am wondering what bet is associated with a regulation win? Because i was of the thought that any type of win is a win aside from betting the puck line

BetNHL.ca

How it’s listed depends on your sportsbook – generally they’ll list the money line though which is with ot/shootout and then you can get better odds by betting on in regulation. Bet365 for example it’s “money line 3 way” where you can also bet on the tie.

Mojo

Oh i see, bodog just has the moneyline
