Did I run over a box of kittens yesterday? Holy crap was luck not on my side last night.
We had the Bruins to win in regulation. Buffalo battled like crazy against them but it was all looking good until with 53 seconds left Matt Moulson managed to sneak in a goal to take the game to overtime.
We also had a prop bet of over 59.5 goals in that game. Final tally? 59. Ugh.
Then with the Avs to win, they were up 4-2 only for the Kings to score 3 uncontested goals to win 6-4.
Oh and as a Habs fan I experienced the worst of all – when you get that very, very late game-tieing goal only to lose it in overtime. Ugh – I hate that.
Still – great to have hockey back last night with 4 close games and 2 really exciting ones goal wise.
Let’s get on with the NHL Betting Tips for February 27th, 2014 and I know I’m going to make quite a lot of our followers happy with my first tip:
Leafs vs Islanders Betting Tips: Leafs to Win
This is the final game in the trilogy between the teams. Toronto won the first 5-2 back in November, while the Islanders won 5-3 in January. Both games were held in Toronto and now it’s off to New York.
The story of this game is the forwards. Islanders have a major loss in John Tavares which really sucks – although it’s good for Leafs fans tonight. Leafs are in a good position and with 22 games left in the regular season for them, this is where they can really prove what they are made of. JVR and Kessel coming off a solid Olympics and working together would help.
Devils vs Blue Jackets: Blue Jackets to Win
This is a tight game, but at 2.15 I like the Blue Jackets to win and think there is some slight value there.
They’ve played 3 times this season and the Blue Jackets have in every won. 4-1, 5-4 and 1-2 respectively. Now they’re on the final game. Looking forward to the Johansen/Gaborik/Horton line out here, and you have to wonder how fit Elias is after his illness, plus all that traveling.
Wild vs Oilers: Minnesota to Win
Have to go with Minnesota here. Edmonton are at that stage where they’ve already accepted it’s rebuilding time. The break has probably made the players really come to that realization. And they’re coming up against a Wild team who has everything going for them. Their injured players were able to rest, relax and are all close to returning, and Mikael Granlund absolutely killed it in Sochi.
