Welcome to the NHL Betting Tips for January 15th, 2015.

Unfortunately, we went 0-1 last night. We had the Capitals -1.5. They went up 1-0 fairly early on but couldn’t get that elusive second goal. Disappointing, but there was a reason Rob Zepp picked up the 2nd star of the game. He looked solid, and props to him.

It’s a busy night for NHL tonight. 10 games on the board. We have a very interesting matchup between the Rangers and the Bruins. Habs visit Ottawa to hopefully continue their fantastic run on the road, and the Oilers hope to pick up some points off the Leafs. The Sharks meanwhile host the woeful Toronto Maple Leafs in the late game.

Let’s get to the NHL Betting Tips:

Stars vs Jets:

We’re going to take Over 5.5 goals in this one. The odds on that is 1.80 available at http://www.5Dimes.eu for Americans(Need to register to see lines) and and http://www.Bet365.com for everyone else..

These two teams played just over a month ago, with the Jets running out 5-2 winners in Dallas. They’re back in Dallas for this one.

Jets are coming off the 8-2 win in Florida, and their offense has been tremendous the last 3 games, running really hot. Their defense continues to be very leaky – great for an Over 5.5 bet. Stars too – their offense is killing it at the moment and you have to go back to December 23rd for the last time they scored less than 2 goals in a game.

Let’s see a great offensive game by both these teams.

Senators vs Canadiens Betting Tips:

Unfortunately, I think the Senators have what it takes to get the win over the Habs tonight. I know my daughter will be excited at that.

They’ve been rocky, but I’ve liked what I’ve seen in Ottawa lately despite some of their losses. It’s been a tricky schedule, and they will be fuming after that Stars game. Yes, Montreal is on fire at the moment on the road – but they just played last night and it was a very tricky game.

Craig Anderson is expected to be back in tonight, and they seem to play with more confidence in him too.

Go with the Senators – 1.95 odds at http://www.5Dimes.eu for Americans(Need to register to see lines) and and http://www.Bet365.com for everyone else..

Wild vs Sabres Betting Tips:

I like Buffalo to finally turn things around tonight.

It feels like forever since we could last describe Buffalo as a “beast” at home – really it was just 6 weeks ago. Since then they have been on an extremely poor run, and had a really bad road trip getting dominated in practically every game.

This is the perfect game for them to turn it around. The Wild are also struggling, and coming off 4 defeats in a row – 2 of which were absolute hammerings by the Penguins and Blackhawks. Sure it’s the Penguins and Blackhawks – but 4-1 and 7-2 back to back is very deomoralizing.

Minnesota come into this one without Suter, who is suspended. They ARE starting Devan Dubnyk, who they just picked up from the Coyotes.

More than anything however – it’s the price that is dictating this one. 2.50 odds is a great price for Buffalo here. I could maybe see them at 2.30 but that’s about as high as I’d go.

I have to go the other way on the Habs-Sens game. Habs are beasts on the road and Tokarski is not a significant downgrade from Price. It was close in Columbus, but Habs are 6-3 b2b, 9-4 vs div. and 12-5 vs teams with losing records. I think +100 is a good price especially parlayed with a Bolts win vs Oilers

The Min/Buf game is a tricky one to call. Buf plays better at home and regardless of their record, Enroth is a good goalie. On the other hand, Dubnyk has performed when needed but won’t have Suter to rely on. Calgary must be happy knowing their facing Smith instead of Dubnyk tonight. Their on a BtoB, but I still think the Habs will be a handful for the Sens tonight. Over 5.5 goals is a good pick for Dal/Win especially when both teams are playing back-ups but Win has solid defense and Lindbakck’s numbers are terrible so picking Win to score over 2.5 goals is tempting too. Good luck everybody!
