We went 2-1 last night in the tips. The Flyers/Islanders game easily went over 5.5 goals. They had 8 goals on average in their last games, and they managed to rack up 7 last night.

We also had the Blues in regulation and they made easy work of the Red Wings in a 4-1 road victory.

Our only loss was the Pittsburgh Penguins in regulation, who lost 5-1 to the Panthers. I sometimes wish I had a time machine just so I could hit up a Vegas book and say “Yeah what will you offer me for Panthers -3.5.”

Lot of good hockey last night, and the Leafs got a nice win on the road to the Coyotes. Sharks had a tough tough win over the Flames but managed to squeeze it out.

Another busy night of NHL action tonight with 10 games on the board. Will the Panthers continue their momentum in Buffalo? Same with the Leafs – tough one against Colorado but it’ll be an interesting one.

It’s -35 here in Kingston and I am bloody freezing. Let’s get to the NHL Betting Tips for January 21st, 2014 so I can go back and tuck myself into my electric blanket! Remember if you wish to compare betting odds, to check out our NHL Betting Odds Comparison page!

Blue Jackets vs Kings: Blue Jackets to Win

First meeting of these two teams this season. Blue Jackets are running hot at the moment, while the Kings are coming off a disappointing loss last night to the Boston Bruins.

LA will likely tighten up in this game, but the Blue Jackets offense are working extremely well at the moment. Since Hortons return the Blue Jackets are playing on another level, and although I think this one will be a tight one I like the Blue Jackets to take the win. Hell, they’re underdogs at 1.95 odds at http://www.5Dimes.eu(Need to register to see lines) you can’t beat that.

Islanders vs Rangers: Over 5.5

My only concern for this one is that the Islanders offense is tired out after last night. However I’m going to back that they instead carry their hot streak into this game, and put away the goals. Lundqvist is apparently out as well which is good news for that Over.

Rangers are on an excellent streak, but the Islanders always give them a tough game and I see this one being a big offensive battle. 2.00 odds at http://www.5Dimes.eu(Need to register to see lines).

Sabres vs Panthers: Under 5 Goals

These two always have tight games. Both games have went under with the Sabres winning 3-1, and the Panthers winning 2-1 in a shootout.

This is a tight game between these teams but I just can’t see too many goals. Buffalo keep things tight and I like this being a nice quiet affair.

Value Bet: Jets vs Ducks

If you like betting purely for value, the Jets are a nice price at 2.95 odds to beat the Ducks. This is not an easy matchup for the Ducks. Winnipeg are on a nice run, and the Jets match up very very well against Anaheim. Plus Kane is back. I personally think the Ducks will win, but there’s tremendous value in the Jets at that price and I can’t pass it up.

This would be a good opportunity to get into the backing/laying aspect over at WBX.

Hey Guys!
I have a question about the tips…
Do you bet the same amount of money on each tip or do you vary the stakes according to your “feeling”?
And is there a possibility to see how much money you “made” (or lost) with your tips? (or ist that the “NHL Bettings Stats” – list?)
Greetings from Germany!

We do a variety. However for stat tracking purposes we go with betting 1 unit to win X units, with X being the variable based on the odds. You can see the stats on the right hand side – a more detailed version is at the bottom with two separate entries by month listing the current record by units, and then the current record by wins/losses.
