Rough night for tips last night as we went 1-2. Also a rough night for the Maple Leafs and all of their fans as they dropped yet another game this time to the the Red Wings 4-2 to push their losing streak to 8 games and are quickly falling out of the playoff picture.

The other teams tied with the Leafs for the final playoff spot had better luck. The Wings and the Jackets both won but the Capitals lost. Going to be an interesting final 6 games.

With a Coyotes loss, the idle Blackhawks clinched a playoff spot, the Avalanche beat the Sharks 3-2 to clinch a playoff spot for the first time since 2010 and the Bruins beat the Capitals to win the Atlantic Division. The Habs won 4-1 against the Panthers to push their win streak to 6 games and the Kings won 4-2 against the Jets to push their streak to 5.

We were too late to get a team in at FanDuel So be sure to get a team in a hour before game time. Our team for today includes:

Ovechkin
Hartnell
Hall

Again head to FanDuel to take part in this amazing fantasy league.

A decent Sunday of NHL action with 6 games. So let’s get to the tips.

Grand Salami: Over 33.5

Or first tip of the night is the Grand Salami over. For people new to the betting world, the grand salami is the total number of goals scored by all teams on the night. So for tonight we need the 6 games to exceed 33.5 goals or just over 5.5 per game. All it takes is one super high scoring game to push us over the top.

We have some high scoring teams playing tonight; Blackhawks vs Penguins, Bruins vs Flyers and Lightning vs Red Wings. Also playing tonight are the Capitals, the nothing to lose Flames and the Rangers.

I see a bunch of these games having high goal totals when they finish.

Bruins vs Flyers: Bruins win

The Bruins have been just about perfect over the last month and their record over their last ten is 9-0-1.

They have now clinched the Atlantic Division and now have their sights set on winning the Eastern Conference and the Presidents Trophy. This is a scary team to have to play for anybody right now. And how great is it to see Iginla reach the 30 goal mark for the 12th time in his career. Many had him written off with his best days behind him and he is proving them wrong. If my Hawks don’t move far in the playoffs I may have to root for the Bruins just so Iggy can get a Cup.

Predators vs Capitals: Capitals to score first

This is a risky bet but we have to lol at a few things.

First the Capitals are fighting for their playoff lives and will be coming out swinging in not only this game but for the rest of the season.

Second the Predators are a defensive team who are lead from the back end.

The Capitals on paper are a good team but for one reason or another have not been able to get the results that they and their fans have expected.

Look for the Caps to take control of this game early.

Bet that the Capitals will score first at http://www.carbonsports.ag for 1.86 betting odds.

I respectively disagree with the over 33.5 grand salami bet. With Malkin and Kane out, I don’t see a lot of goals happening in the Hawks/Pens game. Also, Rangers vs. Oilers will probably go under since Lundqvist is pretty solid and I hate David Perron.

Still new to this but this salami means I need 21 goals in the next 3 games to win again? That’s good right? I’m so new to this betting and the NHL in General my dad loved the wings so it’s good they won I guess

Phil Porter

Ah I’m wrong I need 13 goals in the 3 matches to make the total over the 33.5. Again I’m new but that has to be good

Phil Porter

That’s a good game! Thanks guys I just won my first bet ever with the Boston win!
