It was an unfortunate losing night last night, as Tampa let us down again. They were a very, very frustrating team to watch at the moment. I watched from 2-1 down and there was just no urgency about them whatsoever. Even when they tied it up and had momentum on their side – they just didn’t seem like a team that cared about winning that game. However it may be frustration from that second period where Lightning would have opened up a sizeable lead if not for the heroics of Lehner.

We won the Over 5.5 goals bet in Pittsburgh vs Toronto. That one went to 7 goals with the Penguins winning 5-2.

Such a bizarre night of hockey. There was a period where I was FURIOUS with myself. I went back and forth debating whether to tip Lightning in regulation or the Flyers. This was a tough decision and I went with Lightning. So I was raging all through that 3rd period knowing the Flyers were up 3-0 and had the game wrapped up.

Then I happened to glance at my phone and got the notification that the Habs were in a shootout. WTF? So it worked out that I didn’t tip the Flyers there – I’d probably have killed myself if I had.

After another busy night, we’ve got just two games this evening. The Leafs take on the Rangers in New York, and the Jets take on the Kings.

Unfortunately we have no betting tips for either of the games. We’d recommend sitting tonight out. However as is customary we’ll provide analysis of each game to assist you if you are looking to bet:

Rangers vs Leafs: Last season, it was very tight matchups between the teams. Rangers won 2 of the 3 but at home they only won once, and both times it went to a shootout. Rangers are playing their first home game of the season, Leafs their first road game. Rangers are coming off that very bad loss to the Blue Jackets. The under looks appealing here although it’s 5, and we generally don’t tip or bet that. 2.15 odds makes it probably just worth betting if you’re looking for something to bet on this game.

Jets vs Kings: Both teams will probably meet up prior to the game and give each other some nice long hugs and talk about those nasty, nasty San Jose Sharks. The Jets game was especially frustrating as they just gave away PP after PP. Jets 2.70 probably has slight value. I’ll personally probably throw something on that but it’s not something I can sit here and tip.

I’ll personally have more fun playing Daily Fantasy Hockey with todays matchups.
