It was a fairly standard night in the NHL last night. 2 favourites at home, and both deservedly win in slightly tight matchups. In a sport as variable as hockey, it’s nice to see what’s expected actually happen.

For those who follow them, we won both our OHL Tip and AHL Tip.

The Rangers were shut out by the Blue Jackets which has to be frustrating for them after that nice run they were on.

It’s Saturday, November 18th. That means of course a hell of a lot of games. Let’s see what we’ve got today – not an official tip as it’s too late as the game starts in 30 minutes, but Scott likes the Flames to bounce back and win over the Flyers.

Leafs vs Canadiens Betting Tips:

The Leafs let us down with the over last time out, and their last 3 games have been under 5.5 goals but we’re going to back Over 6 Goals in this one.

It’s always a bet we look at when these two teams play. It’s a big rivalry and both teams want to win bad enough that the’re willing to go all out on the offffensive.

The Leafs are the Leafs. They might have Matthews back tonight(boy we hope so) and will be up for this one.

The Habs are coming off that brutal loss to the Coyotes. You’ve got to expect a fired up Montreal team tonight.

Habs have a flu bug going through their camp but honestly that seems to be the most overrated illness in hockey. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen a flu bug ramaging through a camp, then that team comes out fit as fiddles, winning 5-0.

Anyway – Over 6 Goals incl OT/SO.

Lightning vs Islanders Betting Tips:

We were debating Lightning to win or the over. I’ve decided to go with the Over 6 Goals incl OT/SO on this one.

As I said to Scott while showing off the lingo of the kids these days – the Islanders offense is “lit”. Scott wanted to take them against the Hurricanes but I vetoed that one as I was a bit concerned they’d be slow after the rest they had between games. That wasn’t the case as they beat the Canes 6-4.

Tampa don’t get in a lot of goal for goal clashes – a large part of their incredible run is their goaltending and defense. Hoever honestly the Islanders offense when “on” are fantastic to watch and I’ve got to think this one will go Over 6 Goals incl OT/SO.

Thing we’ll stick with the two today. I’m swamped today and want to get these out before the early game so no best odds. Leafs/Habs I see at 2.03 and Tampa/Islanders at 2.02.

OHL / WHL / AHL / KHL Betting Tips:

(All below systems are based mainly on mathematics and statistics with very little human input and are deemed experimental. )

AHL Betting Tips (4-5, -1.15u): Stockton Heat in regulation at 2.00 odds. Rochester Americans incl OT/SO at 1.95 odds. Grand Rapids Griffins in regulation at 2.20 odds.

My first thoughts were like omg they have no luck today, but after the 2nd I felt like my team is the more lucky one. :)))

What’s going on with your ML record this season?

AlansonD

Ahh I don’t know. I asked this myself, because I had a bad start in the season and I’m not used to it. Seems like I’m going from 50% to 33% winrate. But there are 2 points which changed. The first is I had to implement one more team, which maybe disturbed old recognitions. And the second is that I’m not filtering any tipp anymore. Because weeks ago I filtered the wrong ones and was done with it. But the good thing is, that this OT stuff helps me to get nearly the same profits like last season.

Caesium

Yeah, Vegas is destroying many things! 🙂 Congrats for the OT picks. You’re doing pretty well!

slyNHL

Whats about Capitals and their tradition not to lose 3 in a row?

Graeme (BetNHL.ca)

Just such a ridiculous game. Based on recent performances Wild should beat them relatively easy. Add in the fact that the Wild are decent underdogs and they’d be a great bet. Except it’s the bloody Caps who will show up, play their usual quiet and controlled performance this time it’ll result in a win most likely ha. Really hard to back the Caps atm though. Wild is the bet that makes the most sense given the circumstances but Caps will probably pull through as they do.

Finally, easiest rule to bet on )) use it, until it stop working one day.

Didn’t make any NHL bets yesterday, but tipped Rangers and Wings so I went 1-1. NBA hit me hard yesterday with plenty of upsets. Moving on..

Senators ML- This pick doesn’t require a lot of analysis; the Coyotes have 3 wins so far and 2 required overtime. They were lucky to win their last game against the Canadiens, after the Canadiens kept throwing away the lead. The Senators haven’t been great, but have a much stronger team on paper, are at home and are 5th in the NHL on the offense with Mark stone having a huge season. Betting against the Coyotes remains profitable, and I don’t see them taking 2 wins in a row.

Predators ML- I actually might like this more than the Senators game. Nashville have won 5 of their last 6 dropping their last game to the Wild. Colorado have only won 2 of their last 5 and 1 of their last 5 away, and 2 away wins total all season. Colorado just isn’t the same team on the road. Predators have more than enough to get it done.

Lightning ML- true the Islanders offense has been “lit but that’s more true at home than on the road. The islanders have failed to pick up back to back road wins all season so far, and although they drummed St Louis last time out, they didn’t manage a single goal against the Stars the game prior – losing 5-0. Taking into account the Bolts tore apart the Stars 6-1 in their last game, I honestly believe they have the edge in every aspect here, defensively and offensively. Sure they lost of their last 5 home games but beyond that hiccup their record is perfect. Tampa have won 4 of the last 5 meetings at home and won all 5 h2h meetings overall. Islanders are good but not good enough here.

Blues ML- Although the blues have recently been a little inconsistent, they’ve still won 3 of their last 5 away, whilst Vancouver have only won 1 game at home in their last 5. This Vancouver side is proving to be a side that you just can’t pick when they’re at home. They got drilled by a Vegas side everyone, myself included, thought they should have beaten. Blues beat the Oilers last night 4-1 and I see them rolling to another win here.

Leans – Sharks and Leafs. Bruins performance vs Kings and Sharks vs the Panthers will keep me off betting this, but reckon the sharks win. Leafs- I was so close to picking this, as they’ve won their last 5 whilst Montreal have only 2 wins in their last 5 and lost to the worst team in the NHL(coyotes) which was a joke. Toronto’s away form is scaring me off this, but I might still take it.

SanDiegoBruinsD

I missed commenting/handicapping early games, here’s my thoughts on the late games:

I like the Leafs tonight. Great value at -115. Looks like Matthews returns; he left the Bell Centre with the rest of the regulars while players expected to be scratched continued to work out, a signal as to who is in and who is out of the lineup.

You might be right about Sharks, but Bs are playing with confidence. Don’t count Nucks out, Nilsson has been stellar. Preds no value in ML. Bolts no value in ML but def value in PL or regulation.

Oliver Trigg

I took preds and Tampa in reg. I agree Canucks can play well, but they’ve not shown it at home, par against the Penguins who have been awful on the road.

los angeles???

Devils ML @ 2.42

I am also tailing Bolts vs Isles over from G&S.

GLTA

Caesium

Bolts offensive is being a joke tonight! “Point(less)”

Caesium

I should have spoken earlier…

Caesium

Is anyone watching Bolts? A completely different attitude from the first 2 P’s!!

Johnny Hockey

> OVER 5.5: Sens -Yotes
> WINS: Bolts, Preds, Sharks (maybe Blues)

John UduakD

what do we have to say concerning shak and kings in regulation

SanDiegoBruinsD

Getting to this late so I missed early games.

I took Jets/Devils under because recent trend has been under for both teams by a huge margin.

Cats/Kings under – Cats have really struggled lately and Kings are slumping too

Kings ML – even though they are slumping they are the better team, especially at home. Stevens has mixed up the lines and that just might inspire more offence tonight.

Isles/Bolts over – Bolts have been beast on D but Isles offence has been smoking. We know Bolts have ability to score a lot.

Bolts PL – they have been spanking team lately so this is a value play.

I like the Leafs tonight. Great value at -115. Looks like Matthews returns and they will continue their winning ways against a hapless Habs team.

fun bets:
Canes/Sabres over 1st
Blackhawks/Pens over 1st
Blues TT under 2.5

GLTA SDB

Oliver Trigg

I can’t touch Kings at the moment, feel like they’re a team to fade right now. Agree with everything else! Good luck!

Oliver Trigg

I’m now regretting not taking the Kings!

SanDiegoBruinsD

4-2 not counting fun bets

SanDiegoBruinsD

anyone take Flames/Flyers over or Oilers/Stars over?

magus1349

Waiting for Duchene and Laine to score for 58 units, but is hard to believe.
Anyway, my second combo is:
Leafs, Blackhawks and Caps with one unit.
