A happy Thanksgiving to all our American friends. And if you’re an NFL fan it’s like Christmas came early with 3 games today. Always makes for a great day.

Only two games tonight in the NHL with the Bruins visiting Ottawa and the Habs looking to stop this amazing Hurricanes run. Despite that run the Hurricanes are heavy underdogs in this one.

Let’s analyze both games and see what we’ve got:

Hurricanes vs Canadiens Betting Tips:

Right off the bat that Hurricanes line looks tempting as all hell. At least 2.60 in most places and I see as high as 2.71. However if we look at the stats overall this season the Canadiens are the better team. We all know Price is elite and the Habs looked solid against the Senators. The top Habs line is playing well and might be up for stopping Ward & co.

This is a very tough one and usually we can’t pass up the value on the Hurricanes. Honestly it’s most likely the +EV play here and if you bet it and lose you shouldn’t feel bad. But we’re going to take Montreal to win in regulation. The Habs haven’t been playing bad hockey and have made a few mistakes. Overall we think they’re the better team and with the way the Canes are playing, will take this seriously. We also like their top line to be able to get by Ward. Can get for 1.86 odds at Bet365..

Bruins vs Senators:

No betting tip for this one due to too many questions. Chara is out and that will force the Bruins to change their usually sturdy defense around. However Pastrnak is gametime as is Ryan. If Bruins were a better price we’d take them but at 1.76 approx we’ll stay away. The 1st period system does like the Bruins to win the 1st period which is 2.70 odds.

Mathematical/Experimental Betting Systems:

(All below systems are based mainly on mathematics and statistics with very little human input and are deemed experimental. Previous Records: 1st Period System 30-36 (+15.99u), OHL 28-15 (+17.15u)

OHL Betting Tips(3-6, -2.85u): Sault Ste Marie Greyhounds to win. 1.88 odds.

Much arguments for Montreal that they’ll win. But will they? Looking at the tables they have the most points. Will they extend their lead? I’m confused, Carolina with such a streak against a team which struggled in their last game. Should Price be the winning factor? An OT factor? And also Ottawa who did somehow a great job winning against Montreal. Now on home ice against Bruins who may continue to lose. Will Ottawa win?

What’s about the under in Montreal – Carolina? Will Ward be in the net?

I have also the Hawks (odd a bit to low) and the Islanders on my radar, but I can’t bet. I need to wait for tomorrow and I need to see who is playing.

I like your points mate, but I think Habs will win tonight. Dont have any idea about the score and its better if I dont say anything. But I ll update my pick for project lion and keep hawks for tomorrow if I pass tonight.

Hey thanks mate. 🙂 I do an under combo on both games tonight, but just for fun (watching the games with a bet makes more fun to me). I have way to much units and I think we have some great goalies tonight. If Ward is holding the Montreal offense..
So 0.05 units on Under 5 @ both games with ODD 3.81

I’m suprised about myself. It’s like winning whatever I bet… That’s crazy man, really crazy. I’m scared.

            So be quiet ☺

The Hurricanes winnig streak have to stop some where and today, against Canadiens, is a good day to stop. I am expecting a strong play by them. GL! Preview from a portuguese. Lol

I´ve been confused about nhl too and yesterday it´s a good example, many unexpected scores (at least for me). Would you be willing to develop and AI programm for nba ats? You´ve mentioned Martingale, In a basic nba ats research from last season I found that in average teams (goods or bads) don´t lose more than 5 games in a row and don´t win more than 6 games in a row, the worst record was 7 losses in a row (just for 1 team) and best record of 8 wins in a row (just for 1 team). what do you think?

      • Alanson

The AI needs to learn things, maybe over years. It wouldn’t be a fast thing and I have no clue about the NBA so I don’t know where to start. I could copy and fake the knowledge from the nhl to a nba program, but I don’t know what will happen with the predictions.
If you don’t know where you start to bet you are like lost. The only easy thing would be to concentrate on one team and raise stakes until they win, but the ODDs couldn’t be with you and your project.
You have interesting points and did a nice research, but I can’t easily work on such things. It would take years to develop something accurate (in my opinion). But I could test nhl things on the nba.
Also don’t forget that it takes time to write such things.

        • Alexfdg

Thanks, understood! you´re right, maybe your nhl AI programm doesn´t fit to nba ats. Just let you know that nba ats odds are always the same: -110, so it´s feasible raise stakes and win as I explained in my research and if you manage to skip some matches in certain losing/winning row, there is a big chance to win without risk too much. Just a thought I wanted to share in case you´d be interested to make a winning team work.
