We went 1-1 last night.

For the first tip of last night we had the Stars in regulation over the Oilers and it was Dallas winning 4-2. Spezza picked up the hat trick for the Stars and McDavid finally scored his first goal of his NHL career.  For Oilers fans this must have been a long and horrible wait but now that he got that out of the way it will be interesting to see how he responds and follows it up.

Our last tip of the night was Over 5.5 goals in the Sharks vs Capitals game.  20 minutes before the game it was announced that Ovechkin couldn’t play due to personal reasons.  If we had known that we would have reconsidered this bet but what can you do.  The Sharks came away with the convincing 5-0 win.  Sharks goalie Martin Jones allowed a goal on the first shot he faced in a Sharks uniform this year, their 5-1 season opening win over the Kings, but hasn’t allowed another since including two straight shutout wins

For the value bets, which were thrown in for fun but wont count towards our record for the year, we went 2-1.

We have 4 games on tonight so let’s get to the NHL tips for Wednesday, October 14th

Blackhawks vs Flyers Betting Tips:

These teams have history since the Hawks beat the Flyers for the Cup back in 2010 so this should be a great game.  On paper, this game should go the Blackhawks way but it’s early in the season and anything could happen. The Hawks are 2-1 and have scored 9 goals.  The Flyers are 1-1-1 and have only manged 4 goals.  I think  this will be a tight, low scoring game.

Under 5.5 goals is the tip for this game for 1.77 odds at Bovada for Americans and http://www.Bet365.com for everyone else.

Bruins vs Avalanche Betting Tips:

The Bruins are a mess at the moment.  The have opened the season 0-3 and are looking to avoid going 0-4 for the first in 51 years.  The Boston management will have to make some drastic moves if they don’t turn things around which could, and will, include moving Chara or firing coach Julien. The Avs are 1-1 and should be riding high after their come from behind victory over the Stars on Saturday. But despite all of their off season moves, many of which were questionable, this is the Bruins and they’re a proud organization that will find away to get into the win column.

I have to go with the Bruins to Win for 2.25 odds at http://www.5Dimes.eu for Americans(Need to register to see lines) and and http://www.Bet365.com for everyone else.

Coyotes vs Ducks Betting Tips:

It’s early in the season but I didn’t see the records of these teams looking the way they do.  The Coyotes are 2-0 and Mike Smith has looked great early on.  The Ducks are 0-1-1 and have managed only a single goal through their first 2 games.  The need to shot the puck more often and the goals will come.  They’re a stacked team and considered a favorite to challenge for #1 in the West.

Ducks -1.5 for 2.35 at Bovada for Americans and http://www.Bet365.com for everyone else.

Daily Prop Bet

The Blue Jackets are hurting at the moment.  The have opened the season 0-4.  This team has high hopes for the year so they need to snap their losing skid now.  This team will look to their leaders to get the ball rolling.

It’s that reason why I’m going with Jackets captain Nick Foligno to score a goal against his former team.Sports Interaction (Canada), Bovada (USA) and for everyone else 888 Sports has the odds for a Foligno goal at  2.95
