The Eastern Conference Final begins tonight – Saturday, May 13th 2017.
It features the Pittsburgh Penguins vs the Ottawa Senators.
The Pittsburgh Penguins were underdogs in the last round against the Washington Capitals. However they followed up a very poor Game 6 performance with one of their best performances of the year to win in Washington in Game 7. Prior to that they dominated the Columbus Blue Jacksts as expected.
The Ottawa Senators could not be more of an underdog throughout the playoffs. They were the second biggest underdogs of the first round – Leafs were biggest – and made it through against the Bruins. Then they were the biggest underdogs of the next round against the Rangers – yet made it though.
Not surprisingly the Ottawa Senators are underdogs again going into this one where they don’t have home ice advantage.
We’ll cover the actual series in this article then do the tips from Game 2 onwards.

Penguins vs Senators 2017 Series Betting Tips:
Scott: The Sens have been a huge surprise. The beat 2 strong teams in the Bruins and the Rangers and honestly I didn’t even see them making the playoffs this season.
The Penguins are the Penguins. They beat the Blue Jackets and the Capitals who are both amazing teams and were at the top of the standings during the regular season. They have dealt with injuries throughout the playoffs and it just shows you how deep of a team they are.
I hate to say it but I think the Penguins go through with ease and I hope I’m wrong. Fleury has shown he is still an number 1 goalie while Murray has been out and Crosby has been great concussion and all. Depth will win this series for them.

Graeme: I bet against the Senators in both series and after the first game in the Rangers series I declared I wouldn’t bet against the Sens again.
I’m going to continue that by backing the Senators to win this series.
I’m done not giving this team respect. The Senators being here is the shock of the season yet despite that it really doesn’t have that fairytale element to it. Instead it has a strong team who perform extremely well together and who 100% deserve to be here.
They’ve beaten two incredible oppositions so far – why can’t they beat one more?
The Penguins are a bit beat up. I saw someone the other day – after Game 6 – describe the entire team as “a bit concussed” and I have to admit I understood what they meant. While they bounced back with a solid Game 7, they’ve had to rely on Fleury a lot.
The teams played three times during the regular season. The Senators beat them twice.
The price is just crazy considering the stage of the season we’re in. And as the Penguins went to Game 7 they really haven’t had much chance to recuperate.
I’m going with Senators and I’ll back them in 6 if you want that extra gamble. However my money will be locked on Sens to win the series.
I was excited to read your thoughts about this series as you can imagine. I am a fan of underrated underdogs like Sens. I am also with Sens to win the series. The value is clearly with them!
