A big win last night for the Habs as they take the lead in the series. With one more game in Montreal they’ll be hoping they can keep that energy going and heading to Tampa with a 3-1 lead.
Another very disappointing one from the Knights, with a big win for the Mammoth at home.
And oooh how about those Oilers. They look to be in some series trouble. Quick note from Graeme – I did have more of a writeup yesterday for the McDavid goal bet but I messed up an HTML code. Wasn’t too much to it but you can see it here if you’re curious.
Let’s look at Saturdays 3 games:
Senators vs Hurricanes Game 4 Betting Tips:
Scott: I had picked the Canes to win the series and guessed it would take them 5 games. Well they are now up 3-0 in the series.
The last 2 games were closes and decided by a single goal with game 2 going to overtime. I obviously stand by my original selection of a Canes series win. As a Canadian I wish it was the other way around. If the Sens are to win any games in this series than this is the one.

Graeme: Still on a time crunch here so I will have short write-ups. I’d say stick a pin in the Sens – they are done. Maybe if this was a night game and everyone is a lot more hyped etc they might find that last minute energy. But they just don’t look able to beat the Hurricanes. Canes win incl OT

Wild vs Stars Game 4 Betting Tips:
Scott: The Stars won game 3 in double overtime and now have a 2-1 series lead.
The Wild can’t afford to lose both games at home. If they can tie it up here it’s a best of 3.
Wild win incl OT

Graeme: I do like Wild in OT as well. No real reason for it other than it seems like one of those series that will just randomly keep being tied up until they hit 7 games. The odds are a bit low for me though and due to time constraints no prop today – so no bet.
Flyers vs Penguins Game 4 Betting Tips:
Scott: Things got rough in game 3. For a guy known as being a diver in the early part of his career this was Crosby’s first ever penalty for embellishment which is a crazy stat.
With the Flyers still at home and up 3-0 in the series there is really no other option than to take the Flyers here.
Flyers win incl OT
Graeme: I said to a friend after the last game that I forgot one key fact; that Stuart Skinner exists. Pens also look done. I was going to back the under on this but the Flyers odds are too nice to ignore. Flyers incl OT

Yikes, it’s Game 4 day, with two possible closeouts.

Pittsburgh has no business being in the playoffs and today they leave. They suck. I mostly blame their ownership, who are not concerned about sports, but run the team, like Toronto does, and possibly Vancouver, like a Private Equity firm; trash the operation to it’s minimum functional level where people still buy tickets, it’s about maximizing profits off a garbage dump. You can hire any subversive robotic cretin as GM to conduct that, and that’s why Kyle Dubas and Treliving were hired for their teams: dropping the napalm on sports and squeeze the fans dry. It’s a business cancer. Sadly, those two were just hired by Hockey Canada/Team Canada, so I’m expecting big troubles to take root there.
I considered the Under 6 or Under 7 in the Carolina/Ottawa game, but it wouldn’t surprise me if in desperation Ottawa tries to turn it into a track meet and the score climbs, and just how, I have no idea. Logic would say that Carolina controls the game and the score stays low, so I’m not touching it.
Dallas I can’t figure out, with all their talent and promise, they’re stuck for some reason. Perhaps what’s going on there is that Minnesota has just gotten that much better, and like Anaheim and Utah, are now at a point where they’re competitive and can win any particular game. Speaking of Anaheim, I think Edmonton is in serious trouble!
