And another one bites the dust, as the Avs crush the Kings 5-1 to sweep them.
We both unanimously liked the Avs in that series, and predicted they’d do it in 5. Well they did one better there and won it in a clean sweep. The Kings fell apart in the final game.
Lightning tie up the series with the Habs, and the Ducks score a big win over Edmonton to lead the series 3-1.
Things are a bit quieter today with just two games.
Penguins vs Flyers Game 5 Series Betting Tips
Scott: Penguins picked up the crucial win in game 4 but I still think it’s far too late for them to make a push to try and win this series.
Was smart for the Pens to sit Skinner and start Silovs who looked good in the win. It’s still near impossible for the Penguins to come back as only four teams that trailed 3-0 in a seven-game series have come all the way back to win.

Graeme: Screwed again by Skinner! After he played like his old self in Game 3, they drop him for Game 4 after I went with the Flyers and of course Silovs has a great game.
Silovs is in net again tonight and can the magic strike twice? I have absolutely no idea.
I think the only thing we can go with based on the games so far is the Flyers should be good for a few goals regardless.
I’m going to go with Konecny to get at least 1 point. He’s got 3 out of 4 already in the playoffs, involved a lot, and got assists in both home games previously.

Mammoth vs Knights Game 4 Betting Tips
Scott: Nice job by the Mammoth taking the 2-1 series lead here. The jumped out to a 4-0 lead and held on for the win.
The Knights can’t let them get such a lead and expect to win. They have the experience so they shouldn’t panic yet. They can tie the series and regain home ice advantage with a win here.

No bets for me, but I am leaning on the Lawson Crouse Over 1.5 shots. He’s averaging higher and the matchup should get him opportunities.
I’m looking for another playoff exit tonight; I want to see a lot of well-rested teams playing great hockey in Round 2. After such a disastrous season because of the compressed schedule, these post-Round 1 rest periods will be great strategic empowerment, if used correctly. Teams that run Round 1 out to 6 or 7 games will be a great disadvantage. Something to watch for when previewing Round 2. Cheers.
