A couple of really big and interesting games yesterday.
The Penguins made it two in a row. Now they head to Philly just 3-2 down, with the possibility of completely flipping that series on its head.
Things are getting interesting. And gotta admit that it’s amusing that they stop losing as soon as they drop poor Stuart Skinner.
Vegas made a meal of it but they managed to tie up the series and pull back home ice advantage in a 9 goal thriller with the Mammoth.
Three games today:
Sabres vs Bruins Game 5 Betting Tips:
Scott: The Sabres won game 3 in convincing fashion and did so in Boston. They now have a 3-1 series lead.
They had 11 more shots than the Bruins did and were the better team. They went off for 4 goal in the 1st period and scored 6 unanswered. It really was a flex by the Sabres. I can’t see this going any other way. I picked them in 5 games so let’s go Sabres.
Sabres -1.5
Graeme: Honestly I really am not sure how this series is going to go. The metrics are strongly in Buffalos favour, and they have the momentum and are ready to take the series here. And are returning home as well…..I’m definitely a bit concerned about those early games in Buffalo though.
I’m very tempted by Sabres in regulation but will stick with a player prop as I gotta think regardless of result, Sabres get some goals. Let’s go with a hefty one due to his consistency – Alex Tuck anytime scorer at 2.80. He keeps popping up and Bruins haven’t been able to stop him.
Stars vs Wild Game 5 Betting Tips:
Scott: The Wild were down 2-1 after the 2nd and scored to tie it and won 3-2 in OT.
Now that they have tied the series it’s a best of 3 with them regaining home ice. This has been a great series so far and looks like it has the potential to go long. I picked them to win so for that to happen they need to take advantage of home ice and their fans and win here.
Wild win incl OT
Graeme: With this series flipping back and forth only thing I can say is expect it to go 7. I lean the Stars here primarily to the metrics but it’s pretty close. Wild have been pretty consistent with goals so let’s go with Joel Eriksson Ek at least 1 point. Last game was the first time he didn’t snag one this series but he has been consistent otherwise.
Oilers vs Ducks Game 5 Betting Tips:
Scott: The Ducks seemed to have the Oilers figured out. They have won 3 in a row and have the Oilers on the brink.
It took overtime in game 4 but the Ducks have been able to keep up with the Oilers offensively. That’s really all the Oilers have going for them so to see another team keep pace with them it seems all but over for the Oilers. Goal totals have been 7, 10, 11 and 7. I expect the Oilers to at.leasg go out swinging.
Over 7 incl OT
Graeme: You ever just have something stick out to you to the point you can’t ignore it? Looking through my player prop data today that was Jake Walman at least 1 point. 3.00 odds so it’s a hefty one but I can’t get away from it.

With some matchups they say the series winning game is the hardest to win, but some matchups it’s just not the case, and trends and team quality prevail without a ripple. I see Buffalo at home taking advantage of the situation and winning in style. It will be a great game to watch, and a WOW for the Buffalo home crowd who haven’t seen their team advancing in the playoffs for a long time. But this is a different team with a different trajectory!
@ Graeme: Great tip [Lawson Crouse] from yesterday! I had a tough time choosing anything myself, but that felt sensible enough!
I believe in Scott next – let’s go Sabres! (tho I might go for Regulation instead at about 1.99!)
Hoping Pens will make the possimpible and turn the table over. ;P Let us all remember this might be the last of Crosby and why not enjoy as much as possible! Even if he dives again I think all, literally everyone, will forgive sucha legend. I find it rather funny than anything. 😀
Thanks yeah been on a nice little hot streak with the props. I’ll enjoy it while it lasts as its very high variance – but it also adds real excitement to the game I find.
