So the Islanders pulled their goalie with 8 minutes left yesterday, and the Flyers couldn’t score while the Islanders could only rack up two shots on net.
What are we even doing anymore? Schaefer was such a beast during that though.
Man – imagine having the over in that one? You’d be rather ticked off.
It’s Saturday, and we have a handful of games. And by handful, I mean an octopuses hands and then some.
Let’s get to it – you know the drill at this point of the season. A lot to pass on but hopefully can find something.
Rangers vs Wings:
Big game for the Wings. Rangers are causing teams problems. Way too risky, and honestly the metrics lean the Rangers way. I’d prefer to be on their side here honestly.
Senators vs Wild:
I thiiiiink the Sens can do it here but odds wise yeah I’d probably place them at that. There might be slight value in them
Stars vs Avs:
Nothing here.
Lightning vs Bruins:
I’d lean Lightning here but not up for taking them in regulation. Boston been playing well, still not fully in the playoffs. Not up for betting against that.
By the advanced metrics purely, it’s a play.
Penguins vs Panthers:
I’d like to back the Pens in regulation here but I don’t feel confident. They have been erratic lately going up against a Panthers team who have discovered their mojo last couple of games.
The over isn’t too bad a play here the only concern is the Panthers offense. Pens have piss-poor GA/60 and xGA/60.
Unfortunately, there’s not enough data to back the over when you look at Panthers performances versus similar teams. My gut says it goes over but I’d like that data to back it up.
Kings vs Leafs:
I’d love to back against the Leafs like I did on Thursday, but I don’t have the faith in the Kings to do the job. Meant to be in the playoff race but just one regulation win in their last nine games. And that includes quite a few weak teams in there.
Devils vs Canadiens:
Habs been on a great run. They’re in the playoffs, I could see them taking the day off after a very long road trip. They deserve it.
Canucks vs Mammoth:
Likely the Mammoth but not taking them in regulation.
Jackets vs Jets:
Wheels have came off the Jackets bus too much to back. Nothing in the metrics to suggest they are worth backing.
Hurricanes vs Islanders:
I would expect the Hurricanes to take the Islanders to clown town today. It’s a tricky one though as the Canes have had such a weird last group of games. They did at least discover their magic against the Jackets.
With the Islanders on a B2B, I think I gotta bet against them here. Yes Islanders have a lot to play for here – but that sort of thing can bring out desperation which we’ve seen with the Islanders, and I’ve been able to back an over or two based on that.
Canes -1.5

Capitals vs Sabres:
Neither team really one I am up for backing right now.
Oilers vs Knights:
Same here.
Ducks vs Flames:
Ducks just too erratic for me.
Sharks vs Predators:
Big game for both teams. Sharks got a nice run going. Preds beat them 6-3 in Nashville on the 24th so they have revenge on their minds.
Preds struggling since that game. Bookies have it close to a flip with Sharks just slightly favoured which is how I would price it. Looking at the metrics – it’s just too iffy for me to back San Jose. Their goaltending record just worries me.
Kraken vs Blackhawks:
I mean probably the Kraken but I have no interest in backing them in regulation.

Fuck the Islanders. I only needed that -1.5 to win big haha😅
