The Sens picked up a huge win beating the Canes 6-3 to keep themselves in that cluster at the bottom of the Eastern standings. The Flyers beat the Bruins 2-1 in overtime and they are also part of the above mentioned cluster.
The Pens beat the Panthers 5-2 to move to 7 points ahead of the Isles, who fired Roy and brought in DeBoer to coach. The Wild beat the Wings 5-4 for a crushing loss for them with the Sens and the Flyers both winning.
Slow night with only 4 games.
Lightning vs Sabres
Huge game here. The Lightning are in 1st in the Atlantic with 102 points and the Sabres are in 3rd with 100 points. The Canadiens are in the middle of them in 2nd with 100 points. The Sabres have played one more game than the Lightning have.
This game is going to help determine who wins the division. Should be a good one.
Kraken vs Jets
Kraken on a 4 game losing skid and are basically eliminated at this point. They are in 13th.
The Jets are in 11th and have to gain 3 points just to catch the 8th position.
I have no idea who wins this.
Predators vs Kings
The Predators are in the final wild card spot. They are playing well going 7-3 in last 10 and on a 2 game win streak.
The Kings are in 9th and tied for points with the Preds with the Preds having the advantage.
Another game that is huge and has big implications in the postseason race. Could go either way. Would lean towards the Preds with the Kings home record but with the playoffs on the line I have no idea.
Blackhawks vs Sharks
Blackhawks have been eliminated for a bit now so there really isn’t anything to say for them. At this point they are getting a chance to play some of the young players they have in their system to give them a chance in the league which will help the player, and team, going forward.
The Sharks are in 10th in the West and are 2 points back of the Preds for the final wild card spot. I would like to see the Sharks make the playoffs and to do that they have to win this game.
Should be a good one featuring two of the best young stars and soon to be faces of the league.
