First a big congratulations to fans of the Edmonton Oilers. Getting rid of Stuart Skinner probably feels better than it would winning the cup.
I’ve no doubt they’re busy planning the parade down Whyte Ave as we speak.
Of course, on paper that team has a lot more issues than just Skinner but it will be interesting seeing how the team respond as I always felt – specifically last season – they played very differently when he was in net.
A quick apology for no tips last weekend. That was on me. I was just sick as all hell. I woke up Saturday and it was one of those things where I was just unbelievably tired and kept going back to sleep thinking when I wake up, I’ll be refreshed. That happened pretty much all day until 6pm when I dragged myself out of bed. It was not an enjoyable day.
Then I had to travel to Texas the next day. If you have the chance, be sure to check out Cosm. Incredible experience – we watched the Sunday night game there and it was unreal. Would definitely go back.

Blues vs Blackhawks
The Blues come in on a two game skid, looking to right the ship against the Blackhawks, who j ust picked themselves up off a couple of thumpings to beat the Rangers 3-0 in quite the surprise.
Blues are slight favourites. A quick look at the data and Hawks very slight favourites last 10 in CF & FF%, although Blues overall season better. Man – it’s actually a very tight game. I think I’d agree with the bookies – slightest of edge to the Blues. Not a fan of the over at all with xG/GF metrics – I just never like betting poor offenses against weak defenses.
Mammoth vs Kraken
Mammoth come in having lost three in a row. Kraken ended their skid against the Kings in OT.
A lot of this is quite close. GF% obviously waaaay in favour of Mammoth, but xG less so.
I tell ya – at 2.50 odds, I don’t completely hate the Kraken by all the data when looking at all data. However the 5 vs 5 data has really put me off. I was hoping that would lean enough in Krakens favour or at least be 50/50 to make it a bet – but it does not.
