Only the 5 games yesterday.
The Habs were down 3-0 to the Lightning and managed to take it to a shootout where they lost 5-4. The Isles were up 2-1 after the 2nd but ended up losing 4-2 to the Jackets.
The Pens scored the first 4 goals and beat the Blackhawks 7-3, Hildeby tried to clear the puck in OT but failed miserably and the Wings beat the Leafs 3-2 and the Kraken beat the Flyers 4-1.
11 games today.
Capitals vs Panthers
Last played on November 13th with the Panthers winning 6-3.
Caps haven’t been great in last 10 going 3-4-3. On the road they have gone 9-6-3. Panthers lost their last game but are still 7-3-0 in last 10 and 12-8-2 at home.
It’s pretty even across the board for data with the Caps having much worse numbers in CA/60 which is 6 points higher than the Panthers. I’m just not sure that’s enough to make them a play.
Jackets vs Senators
Last played on December 11th with Sens winning 6-3.
Jackets just played yesterday against the Isles and won 4-2.
The Sens have lost 2 in a row and are 5-4-1 in last 10. At home they have gone 8-6-3.
With Jackets just playing and the Sens at home having lost their last 2 games its a pass for me.
Rangers vs Hurricanes
Last played on November 26th with the Rangers winning 4-2.
The Rangers are still sitting in the bottom half of the Metro division. Things won’t be getting easier for them with the Canes, Caps and Panthers up next.
The Canes are in 1st place in the Metro and the East. 3 of their last 6 wins came in overtime so they haven’t been dominating.
I want to take the Canes and it would have to be in regulation. With 3 of their last 6 wins going long I have to stay away.
Oilers vs Jets
The Oilers haven’t been good on the road going 9-11-3. It makes taking them a risk and I’m not feeling that.
The Jets have lost 5 in a row.
Easy pass here.
Sabres vs Blues
Last played on November 6th with the Blues winning 3-0.
It’s hard to bet against the Sabres right now. They have won 8 games in a row but are on the road where they have gone 7-9-2.
The Blues are 8-8-5 in St. Louis and rank poorly in both GPG and GAPG.
The Sabres have the advantage in CF/60, FF/60, SF, GF and GA. So I may be late to jump on their wagon but there’s enough to take them here.
Sabres win incl OT/SO

Bruins vs Flames
Bruins have dropped their last 5 games and I just can’t be bothered to look to far into them when they are paying like this.
The Flames are 7-3-0 in last 10 and at home they have gone 10-5-2. They have gotten themselves back on track but Instill am not a fan of them this season.
Kings vs Avalanche
Played back on October 7th with the Avs winning 4-1.
The Avs have been the top team for basically the whole season and its really tough to bet against them. They are on a 7 game win streak and at home have gone 15-0-2.
The Kings are 11-4-5 on the road which is good but now take on a team who hasnt lost in regulation at home yet so they will surely be tested here.
6 of the Avalanche last 10 games were decided by a single goal which makes a Puck Line play tricky.
They do have better numbers in CF, slightly better in CA, SF, GF and XGF. If not for the amount of 1 goal games of late I would take the Avs here but I have to pass.
Predators vs Mammoth
Last played at the start of October and the Mammoth won that 3-2.
The Preds are in 6th in the Central and are 6-4-0 in last 10. On the road they have gone 6-8-2. Against teams from the Central they are 5-7-2.
The Mammoth are in 4th in the Central and are 4-6-0 in last 10. Against teams from the Central they have gone 6-5-0 and at home they’re 9-6-1.
Sharks vs Ducks
Last played on October 11th with the Ducks winning 7-6 in OT.
Could make a case for each team here so I’m instead passing.
Canucks vs Kraken
Nothing here. Canucks have lost 2 in a row after going on a run after moving Hughes.
The Kraken have won 3 in a row but are .500 at home going 7-7-3.
Nothing jumps out at me here.
Wild vs Knights
Last played on November 16th with the Wild winning 3-2 in OT.
Despite having both of their last games go to overtime, the Wild are still 8-1-1 in last 10.
The Knights are still in 1st place in the Pacific and are 5-2-3 in last 10. 2 of their last 5 games went to a shootout and both were losses.
I want to take the Wild here as they have been strong of late. But the Knights are no push over. Both teams have needed extra time recently which has me reluctant to make a play here.
