5 games yesterday.
The Leafs shutout the Devils 4-0 without Nylander and Matthews who was out with a lower body injury, the Penguins beat the Canes 5-1 scoring 5 goals before the Canes got on the board.
The Panthers were up 2-0 until the Habs scored twice with less than 5 minutes left to tie it and force overtime where they won it 3-2.
10 games today. With it being New Year’s Eve the games start times make it a day full of hockey. Hopefully everyone has a great New Year’s.
Rangers vs Capitals
Last played on December 23rd and the Rangers won that with ease 7-3.
Both teams have been playing like trash of late. The Rangers are 4-5-1 in last 10 and lost their last 2 games. The Caps have been even worse going 3-5-2.
Hard to pick a winner betwen two teams that arent, and haven’t, been playing well.
Predators vs Knights
The Predators have been playing well going 7-3-0 in last 10. They are 17-17-4 overall this season and 7-8-2 on the road. Stamkos only needs one more goal to hit 600 for his career.
The Knights have lost their last 2 games. They are 4-3-3 in last 10 and 8-5-6 at home. They are ranked better than the Preds in GPG, SOG, GAPG and SOGA but still the Preds have played better of late than they have.
I’m not a fan of the Preds and with the Knights losing last 2 I have to pass here.
Wild vs Sharks
Last played on November 11th with the Sharks winning 2-1 in overtime.
The Wild have won their last 2 games and in their last 10 they have been solid going 8-1-1. Even their road play has been decent going 11-6-1.
The Sharks have also won their last 2 games and are 6-4-0 in last 10. At home they are 10-7-3.
The Wild have been a great team since bringing in Hughes and I think they have a chance here too I just don’t like that play.
Lightning vs Ducks
They last played back in October and the Lightning won that 4-3.
The Lightning are rolling at the moment winning their last 4 games and going 6-3-1 in last 10. This win streak makes up for the 4 game skid they had at the start of the month. On the road they have gone 11-4-3.
The Ducks have lost the last 3 games they played and are 3-6-1 in last 10. At home they have gone 12-7-0. It seems like the promise they showed earlier in the season has somewhat gone away. They are still in 3rd in the Pacific but just drop down a bit with each loss.
Hard to bet against the Lightning with the way they have been playing.

Jets vs Wings
Oh wow. The Jets are really playing like shit. They have lost 6 in a row, are 1-6-3 in last 10 and 7-10-2 on the road.
The Wings are 7-3-0 in last 10 and at home have gone 13-7-1. Their last 3 wins have came in overtime which isnt exactly helping them. But against the Jets its hard not to take them here. The Wings have better numbers in GF/60, GA/60 and XGF.

Devils vs Jackets
Last played on December 1st with the Jackets winning 5-3.
Both teams on streaks here.
The Devils are on a 4 game losing skid and played yesterday. They are 4-5-1 in last 10, 10-10-0 on the road and 3-5-2 against teams from the Metro Division.
The Jackets have won 3 in a row. They are 4-6-0 in last 10, 8-6-3 at home and 3-6-2 against Metro teams.
Looking at both teams records against Metro Division teams and also how they have played based on road or home I’m passing on this one.
Sabres vs Stars
The Sabres are on a huge win streak winning their last 9 in a row. Tonight’s game is going to be a challenge though.
Even though the Stars have lost their last 2 games they are 6-2-2 in last 10. At home they have gone 12-5-2. They are 2nd in GPG and 4th in GAPG.
I’m not touching this. If the Sabres push the streak to 10 then thats great. But like I said this is going to be a tough game.
Blues vs Avalanche
There really isn’t any point diving to deep into this game.
The Blues haven’t had a good season. They are in 6th in the Central and they have so much ground to make up that it may already be too much.
The Avs are a machine. They have won 8 in a row and are 9-0-1 in last 10. Still haven’t lost in regulation at home going 16-0-2 and against Central Divison teams they have gone 7-0-4.
The Puck Line is just barely above our minimum so it’s a pass.
Bruins vs Oilers
Last played on December 18th with the Oilers winning 3-1.
The Bruins are struggling losing their last games. Not going to be easy here on the road where they have gone 8-10-1.
The Oilers have been playing better going 7-3-0 in last 10. At home they have gone 10-3-3. The home record is much better than their road record of 10-11-3
Just not feeling this game.
Flyers vs Flames
Last played each other on November 2nd with the Flames winning 2-1.
The Flyers played last night and beat the Canucks 6-3
The Flames have won their last 2 games and are 7-3-0 in last 10. They have been playing well beating the Oilers and recently.
Not seeing anything here.
