5 games yesterday.

The Stars beat the Devils 3-0 and are now 6-0-2 in last 8.  The Flyers beat the Sabres 5-2 and Dahlin was ejected for boarding Zegras during the game.  The loss stopped the Sabres win streak at 2.

The Jets and Canadiens traded goals and went to overtime where nothing was decided so it went to a shootout where the Habs won it 3-2.  The Caps scored 7 straight goals and won 7-1 against the Sharks and the Mammoth beat the Ducks 7-0.

10 games for us tonight.

Avalanche vs Islanders

They just played on November 16th and the Avalanche won that 4-1.

The Avalanche can do no wrong this season.  They have a comfortable lead for 1st place overall in the league, are on a 2 game win streak, are 9-0-1 in last 10 and are 8-1-4 on the road.

The Isles have been a real treat for some people to watch this season.  In last 10 they have gone 5-4-1 in last 10 and at home they are at .500 going 6-6-2.

The Avalanche are ranked 1st in GPG, SOG and GAPG.  The Isles are 24th, 9th and 11th so clearly the Avs are favored here.

The Avs better in CF, SF/60, GF/60 and GA/60.  So I’m taking them here.  Lets see if the Isles will screw me like they have Graeme.

Predators vs Panthers

They played on November 24th with the Panthers beating the ass off of them 8-3.

The Preds are to me what the Isles are to Graeme.  I have a terrible time when I bet on games involving them.  They are 4-6-0 in last 10 and 3-5-2 on the road.

The Panthers are in a slump losing their last 3 games.  They are 5-5-0 in last 10 and 8-6-1 at home.

Not touching the Preds and the Panthers play of late makes this a pass for me.

Rangers vs Senators

The Rangers, despite being in 7th place in the Metro, have been good on the road going 11-4-1.  In last 10 they are 5-5-0 and rank 27th in GPG and 4th in GAPG.

The Sens are 5-4-1 and sit tied with a few teams with 30 points in the Atlantic.  They are 5-4-1 in last 10 and at home they have gone 6-3-2.

I would lean towards the Sens here but it would have to be in regulation and with the Rangers play on the road I have to pass here.

Blues vs Bruins

The Blues are 9-11-7 this season and there has been talks about moving on from some of their core players.  They are 3-3-4 in last 10 and on the road they are 4-5-3.  They are 30th in GPG and 27th in GAPG.

The Bruins are 4-6-0 in last 10 and 9-5-0 at home.  They rank 13th in GPG and 23rd in GAPG.  They are in that cluster in the Atlantic all tied or within a point of each other.

Leafs vs Hurricanes

They last played each other in November 9th with the Canes winning 5-4.

The Leafs have won their last 2 games scoring 11 goals over that span, are 4-4-2 in last 10 and a disappointing 4-7-0 on the road.

The Canes are tied with the Lightning for 1st place in the Eastern Conference.  They have won their last 2 games, are 5-3-2 in last 10 and at home they have gone 8-3-1.

Leafs are 4th in GPG and the Canes are 5th.  For SOG the Leafs are 18th and the Canes are 2nd, GAPG Leafs are 28th and the Canes are 10th and for SOGA the Leafs are 31st the Canes 2nd.

Both teams on 2 game streaks so this could go either way.

Penguins vs Lightning

It still blows my mind that the Penguins leadong scorer is 38 year old Crosby who is followed by 39 year old Malkin.  They are 4-3-3 in last 10.  On the road they have done well going 7-3-3.

The Lightning have been good this season and are in 1st place in the Atlantic.  In their last 10 games they are 8-2-0.  At home they’ve gone 8-5-0.

With the way Crosby and Malkin have defied aging and continue to keep the team somewhat competitive, it’s tough to bet against the Pens as that’s what I wanted to do here but it would have to be -1.5 but I’m out.

Wings vs Jackets

They last played on November 22nd and the Wings won that one 4-3 in overtime.

The Wings don’t have an amazing record going 14-11-2 but still sit tied with 30 points with a few teams in the Atlantic which is near the top.  They are 4-4-2 in last 10 and 5-5-1 on the road.

The Jackets are in 8th place in the Metro have gone 4-2-4 in last 10.  At home they have gone 5-3-3.  They are 23rd in GPG and 4th in SOG.  That explains why they are ranked 29th in shooting percentage.

Want to take the Wings but the numbers don’t support it enough.

Wild vs Flames

They last played on November 9th with the Wild winning 2-0.

Wild come into this game off of a shutout win against the Oilers.  The 3 games they played before that have all gone to overtime.   In last 10 they are 8-0-2 and on the road they are 7-4-1.

The Flames continue to struggle.  They are on a 2 game losing skid, are 5-3-2 last 10, 4-4-2 at home and are currently in 8th place in the Pacific and last place overall on the league.

I don’t hate the Wild and their chances here and their road record only helps but let’s look at the data.

For GPG the Wild are 26th anf the Flames 32nd for GAPG the Wild are 7th the Flames 16th.  This is also a gut play too but theres enough to back it.

Wild win incl OT

Kraken vs Oilers

They just played each other on Saturday and the Oilers won that one 4-0.

The Kraken are limping into this game going 4-4-2 in last 10 including losing their last 3 games.  On the road they are 5-4-3.

The Oilers are 4-5-1 in last 10.  At home they have gone 5-3-2.

In GPG the Kraken are 31st and the Oilers 17th.  In GAPG the Kraken are 6th and the Oilers 29th.

As you can see both teams aren’t having very good seasons to this point.  It makes it easy to pass on this game.

Blackhawks vs Kings

These team played back on October 26th with the Kings winning 3-1.

Hawks are coming off of a loss but Bedard scored on rifle from just inside the faceoff circle.  He added another beauty in the shootout.  This kid is really turning into a superstar and I’m loving it.

The Kings are 5-2-3 in last 10 amd 4 of their last 6 games went to extra time.  At home they have gone 3-5-3.

With Bedard’s continued improvement it’s only a matter of time until he can take the team on his back and drag them to victory just not there quite yet.

Carolina – Toronto.
This will be Toronto’s sixth and final road game, and facing a rested Hurricanes team puts Toronto at a disadvantage. Carolina hasn’t played since Sunday, while Toronto faced Florida on Tuesday, earning a victory and putting in a strong performance. Carolina is one of the best home teams in the NHL this season. The Canes are averaging 3.75 goals per game at home, third in the league.
Over 6 goals OT excl.

Boston – St. Louis
Looking at the Blues’ stats, they don’t exactly inspire optimism heading into this game. The Blues haven’t had many shots on goal as they have been and are one of the lowest-scoring teams in the league. Furthermore, their defense isn’t exactly spot on, so a Bruins win is highly likely. Boston is playing solidly at home, with a 9-5-0 record. The only potential issue could be injuries.
Dnb: Boston win

Columbus – Detroit
The stats clearly show that the Columbia Blue Jackets are struggling to score goals at home. Columbus ranks 25th in the NHL, averaging just 2.64 goals per game this season. Detroit shows promise offensively, averaging 3.0 goals per game and ranking third in shots with an average of 30.4 per game at the moment.

Dnb: Detroit win

Big v

Was happy to see you were on the Wild as I scrolled down the picks. Before I checked any metrics or stats this was always going to be an auto bet.

Colarodo feels the same as they’re such a juggernaut atm.. However the Isles have been sneaky good since the infamous “fuck the Isles” game. They even bumped off Tampa last game who was looking almost as dominant as Colorado. GL with your bet on that one! Feels a bit scary.
