8 games yesterday as we got back to business. Won the tip too.
Had the Knights to beat the Kings and they did 6-4 for some decent odds. Ducks scored 4 times in the 3rd to comeback and beat the Oilers 6-5. The Lightning beat the Leafs 4-2.
The Avalanche beat the Mammoth 4-2. The Stars beat the Kraken 4-1 without Rantanen. The Caps beat the Flyers 3-1 and the Jets beat the Canucks 3-2 in OT.
12 games tonight and a bunch of teams are playing for the 2nd consecutive night. Let’s have a look and see if we can find anything.
Leafs vs Panthers
Last played at the start of January with the Leafs winning that 4-1.
The Leafs played yesterday.
Players returning from Olympics for the Panthers: 10.
The Panthers are in 8th in the Atlantic and haven’t really been a threat this season which is unlike the previous two years where the won the Cup.
With the Leafs just playing and the Panthers not having had a great season and having 10 players readjusting to North America I’m passing.
Jackets vs Bruins
Last played on December 28th and the Bruins won 4-0. Players returning from Olympics: Jackets 2, Bruins 7.
The Jackets were on fire heading into the break winning 7 straight. They are in 4th in the Metro and 9th in the East only 4 points back of the 8th place Bruins.
The Bruins are in 5th in the Atlantic and in the 8th and final wild card spot 3 points back of the Red Wings who are in 3rd in the Atlantic.
This is a tough game to call.
Lightning vs Hurricanes
Last played on December 20th with the Lightning winning 6-4.
The Lightning played last night.
The Hurricanes are 8-0-2 in last 10 and have won their last 3 games heading into the break. Players returning from Olympics: 5. They are in 1st in the Metro and have an 8 point lead over the 2nd place Penguins.
I can’t take the Lightning as they just played and to take the Hurricanes it would have to be in regulation.
Wings vs Senators
They last played on January 18th and the Wings won that 4-3. Players returning from Olympics: Wings 3, Senators 6
The Wings are in 3rd in the Atlantic, tied with the 2nd place Habs in points and went 5-3-2 heading into the break. Against Atlantic teams they have gone 10-4-2
Sens are in 11th in the Atlantic and 6 points back of the Bruins. They went 6-3-1 in last 10 and against Atlantic teams they have gone 5-5-5.
Sens captain Tkachuk says he’s ready for a playoff push. After his team won gold and the impact he had on his team, he may be able to drag the Sens back into contention.
Islanders vs Canadiens
Players returning from Olympics: Islanders 2, Canadiens 4.
The Isles are in 3rd in the Metro only 1 point behind the Penguins in 2nd. They went 6-4 in last 10 and won last 2 before the break.
The Habs are in 2nd in the Atlantic but are tied for points with the 3rd place Wings. They went 6-3-1 in last 10.
Similar records based on where they are playing with the Isles going 16-11-3 on the road and the Habs going 16-11-1 at home. I’m staying away.
Devils vs Penguins
The Devils played yesterday.
The Pens will be without Crosby as he was injured in the Olympics. Players returning from Olympics: 4. They are in 2nd in the Metro but are only 1 point ahead of the Isles.
Want to see how the Pens do after having 4 players play extra games. They aren’t a young team.
Blackhawks vs Predators
Both teams were playing like shit heading into the Olympic Break. Players returning from Olympics: Blackhawks 1, Predators 4.
Not liking either team here.
Flyers vs Rangers
Flyers played last night.
Players returning from Olympics from the Rangers: 3. The are in last place in the Eastern Conference and I have reason to back them anytime soon.
Kraken vs Blues
Kraken played yesterday.
Players returning from Olympics for the Blues: 5. They are on a 3 game losing skid, in last place in the Central and 14 points back of the wild card.

Wild vs Avalanche
Last played on December 21st with the Avs winning 5-1.
Players returning from Olympics for the Wild: 8. They have had a good season so far. They have gone 8-1-1 in last 10 and have won 5 in a row. Against teams from the Central they have gone 9-4-2.
The Avalanche played last night.
This should be a good game and both teams know how important these two points are.
Flames vs Sharks
Last played on January 31st with the Flames winning 3-2. Players returning from Olympics: Flames 1, Sharks 4.
The Flames are in 14th in the West and about 20 points out of the playoffs. They are a team that I’m not expecting much out of.
Celebrini looked amazing in the Olympics and he deserved to be there 100%. It may be a coming out party for him now that he’s not playing against the best players each game. They did lose the last 4 games they played before the break. They are in 6th in the Pacific.
Want to take the Sharks here and that’s just because of how Celebrini played but they have lost 4 in a row so it’s a pass.
Oilers vs Kings
Both teams played yesterday so it’s a pass.
