Only 3 games yesterday and one of them was the Stadium Series.
The Bruins were in Florida to take on Lightning outside at the Raymond James Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Lightning had a huge 4 goal comeback and won 6-5 in a shootout.
Was a busy 3rd period with 3 goals in about 4 minutes and the Canes won 3-2 in overtime. The Ducks handed the Knights their 5th straight loss winning 4-3.
10 games scheduled for today.
Islanders vs Capitals
These teams have the same record based on where they are playing with both going 15-10-3 when Isles on the road and the Caps at home.
The Isles currently sit in 3rd in the Metro and have a 4 point lead over the 4th place Jackets. The Capitals are tied with the Jackets but have played 2 extra games than them so they are 4 back of the team they play tonight. Big game for both teams here. I really don’t know how this game is going to play out.
Sabres vs Panthers
Big game here in the standings. The Sabres are in 4th with 67 points in the Atlantic and the Panthers are in 6th with 59.
They last played on January 12th with the Panthers winning 4-3.
The Sabres have had a good season and even though they have an 8 point lead over the Panthers, this should be a good game with both teams knowing how much the 2 points are worth. The Panthers have been stumbling and that’s why they are where they are but they are a team capable of going on a run to get back into the picture.
The Sabres just has their 5 game win streak snapped so I’m curious to see how they respond and try to get back on track and the Panthers are in desperate need of points. I have to pass.
Senators vs Penguins
Last played in December and the Sens won that 4-0.
Sens are in 7th in the Atlantic with 59 points and are 8 points back of the wild card spot. Ullmark made his return in the last game and I can see the Sens using this for momentum.
The Pens are on fire winning 6 in a row and are in 2nd in the Metro. Letang is going to miss a month but with the league about to head in to the Olympic Break it couldn’t come at a better time.
This is a game that could go either way and the odds show that.
Canadiens vs Wild
Just played on January 20th with the Habs winning 4-3.
The Habs have been playing great going 6-3-1 in last 10 and have won their last 3 games. They are in 3rd in the Atlantic and only 1 point back of the Wings but have a game in hand.
The Wild have also been playing well also going 6-3-1 and are also on a 3 game win streak. They are in 2nd in the Central, 7 back of the Avalanche and 1 ahead of the 3rd place Stars. Hughes is riding a 8 game point streak.
Blues vs Predators
Last played at the end of December and the Blues won 3-2.
Both teams are out of the playoffs, the Preds are 3 points back and the Blues are 10 behind.
Nothing for me from this game.
Jets vs Stars
Last played on December 9th and the Stars won 4-3.
The Jets are 8 points back of the wild card and are 5-3-2 in last 10. The Stars are in 3rd in the Central and are only 1 point back of the 2nd place Wild with a game in hand. They have won 4 in a row.
On the road the Jets haven’t been good going 10-15-2, the Stars have been strong at home going 14-7-3.
The data looks to back the Stars here and with them at home on a 4 game streak I’m fine taking them.

Sharks vs Blackhawks
Cant pick a winner here.
The Sharks are only 1 point back of 8th but have lost their last 2 games.
The Hawks have dropped 5 straight and are 8 back of 8th.
Wings vs Avalanche
These teams just played each other on Saturday and MacKinnon scored twice in the 5-0 Avs win.
The Wings are in 2nd in the Atlantic but are on a 3 game skid.
The Avalanche are still in 1st place overall and it’s thanks to their early season play that they are still there. They have been struggling going 4-4-2.
The Wings need to stop this skid to stay where they are and the Avalanche need to get themselves back on track before the break.
Canucks vs Mammoth
Last played on December 5th with the Mammoth winning 4-1.
Canucks are a mess. Demko is out for the season, they are 2-7-1 in last 10, 12-14-2 on the road and are in last place overall in the league.
The Mammoth currently sit in the first wild card spot. They have lost their last 2 games but it was against strong teams the Canes and Stars. Been good at home going 15-8-2.
Mammoth better in CF, CA, GF an GA. I do like their chances but it would have to be -1.5.
Leafs vs Flames
Leafs finally picked up a win snapping their losing skid at 6 games. It was in a shootout against the worst team in the league but for them a win is a win. They are 8 points back of the final wild card spot.
The Flames are in 14th in the West and 9 back of the wild card. They are 4-4-2 in last 10.
I’m sure the Leafs would love to build off of that win as the head into the breaknwith games against the Flames and Oilers but I’m not sold on them after the season they have had.

Can’t believe you didn’t give the obligatory F the Isles! I love to see the Haters! 🦞
