7 games yesterday and went 1-0.
Had the Jackets to beat the Devils and they did 3-0. Flyers ended their losong skid at 4 games when they beat the Caps 4-2. Canes beat the Sens 4-3.
Sabres and Lightning went to OT where Tampa won 4-3. The Pens and Isles also went to overtime where the Isles won 5-4 and the Leafs beat the Oilers 5-2.
10 games tonight. I don’t think I’ll have another pick until after the Olympics are over. I’ll write briefly about each game tonight and as always post your picks in the comments.
Blackhawks vs Jackets
Tough to back the Hawks on the road.
Jackets played yesterday so this is a pass.
Bruins vs Panthers
Bruins are in 5th in the Atlantic. They’ve gone 7-1-2 in last 10, 11-12-3 on the road and are 9-8-1 against Atlantic teams.
The Panthers are in last place in the Atlantic, on a 4 game losing skid, 4-6-0 last 10, 14-13-3 at home and 5-8-1 against Atlantic Divison teams.
With both teams records and results against the division, I can’t find a team to tip here.
Canadiens vs Jets
Habs have had a good season so far amd find themselves in the playoff picture heading into the Olympic Break.
The Jets have had a rough season and are about 10 points out of the playoffs. Frustrating team to watch and can only imagine how it would be being a fan after all the promise they had coming into this season.
I can’t back the Jets and the Habs are allowing more GAPG than the Jets which makes them a pass too.
Wild vs Predators
Wild on a decent run going 7-2-1 in last 10 and winning their last 4 straight. They are in 2nd in the Central and 8-4-2 against teams withing the division.
The Preds are also on a win streak but their’s is only 2 games long. They are in 5th in the Central and 18 points behind the Wild.
The Wild are ranked better in GPG, SOG and GAPG. Despite them having the edge there its just a tough pick with them on the road.
Sharks vs Avalanche
Like the Blackhawks, its tough to back the Sharks on the road.
The Avalanche are in a slump so it’s a pass for me here.
Wings vs Mammoth
Last played on December 17th and the Mammoth won 4-1.
The Wings have had a good season so far and are in 2nd in the Atlantic. Have played well on the road too going 15-8-4.
The Mammoth have also had a decent season. They are in 4th in the Central and in the wild card. They are 7-3-0 in last 10 and 16-8-2 at home.
Both teams have been good and that makes it tricky to pick a winner. I would lean Wings but thats just a personal opinion.
Blues vs Stars
Just played in January 27th with the Stars winning 4-3. This is both teams last game before the Olympic Break.
Blues have lost last 2 games and are in last place in the Central and are 26 points behind the Stars. They have gone 5-12-0 against teams from the Central.
The Stars are in 3rd and have won 5 games in a row. They have gone 11-4-1 against Central teams.
I would think that the Stars would win this game but if you’re taking them you would have to do so -1.5
Oilers vs Flames
Battle of Alberta. These are usually fun games to watch.
The Oilers played yesterday.
The Flames are falling out of the picture and there is points between them and the Oilers.
Canucks vs Knights
Both teams are playing like shit. Can’t back either.
Kraken vs Kings
The Kraken played yesterday.
The Kings are in 5th in the Pacific but aren’t far back of the division leaders. They haven’t been good at home going 8-10-7 and they play again tomorrow against the Knights. With their home record it’s a pass here.
