The Vegas Golden Knights smashed through to the next round of the playoffs with a comfortable 5-1 victory over Utah. Will be interesting to see if they can carry that momentum.
Buffalo also went through with a solid victory over the Bruins, and we will see a Game 7 in the Habs vs Lightning. It was an incredibly tight one with Tampa winning in OT.
For Saturday, we have just the one game as the Hurricanes vs Flyers series kicks off.
Hurricanes vs Flyers Series Betting Tips:
Scott: The Canes made easy work of the Sens when they swept them.
Hall had a great first round putting up 7 points in 4 games. Stankovan had 5 and Blake had 4. They still have some.bog names who haven’t yet got going offensively like Ehlers, Svechnikov and Jarvis. Miller lead the team from the back end scoring 3 points and Andersen was great with a 1.10 GAA and a .955 save percentage.
The Flyers had a big series in round one. Having to play 6 games in the Battle of Pennsylvania has to be tiring but also a momentum boost.
The Flyers got to the 2nd round thanks to Zegras, Cates, Konecny and the surprise of the 1st round Martone. Michkov needs tk do more and his healthy scratch hopefully got that message through to him. Ristolainen, Drysdale and Sanheim have been strong defensively for them and Vlader has been solid in net.
I would rather see the Flyers win this series but I’m not sure that they have what it takes. Sure they just beat the Pens but they weren’t anywhere near the level of team that the Canes are. Maybe all the extra time off will hurt them as I think that’s the only way that the Flyers win this series. I hope I’m wrong here but im taking the Canes in 5 games.
Graeme: I was wrong on both counts in these teams progressing. It says something about the Hurricanes this year that they were able to dispose of the Sens in such a fashion – it wasn’t as easy as it looked – and it shows just how impressive they are this year.
I backed the Pens thinking their offense would be able to beat the Flyers defense but that primarily wasn’t the case at all.
I don’t think the Canes will have similar problems. They are a well-oiled machine, with some of the best offensive metrics all season.
Basically I’m backing against that Flyers defense again. I’ll take Hurricanes -1.5 for the series.
