Disappointing one yesterday, as Tampa failed to cover the spread. Hell, they barely even won the game. They did dominate for the majority of it but couldn’t get the goals needed.
Glad I felt a bit iffy about the Avs. I saw people upset because they bet them at -300 yesterday on the ML. Please if you are reading – never bet a line like that in the NHL.
Canucks offense did get going and that one went over. Thank the sportsbooks for the bad odds on Rangers vs Sharks yesterday over. Man I woulda been ticked – 4 goals in the first period then nada.
Let’s look at todays. I’m traveling this weekend but hopefully should still be able to handle tomorrows bets.
Islanders vs Sabres
Fuck the Islanders. They are too erratic to consider. Looking at the metrics I’d say close to coinflip odds is spot on.
Predators vs Mamomoth
Not seeing anything here due to some big erratic numbres involving goaltending. A bit too high variance for me.
Jets vs Red Wings
The data makes this too tight to call. The one potential play is the over. However it relies on Jets goaltending not being quite as good – and it has been solid last few games.
Jackets vs Lightning
Yeah I ain’t touching Tampa here. By the data I don’t hate them but on a B2B and last night unable to score is an issue.
Senators vs Hurricanes
Odds probably are spot on for this one.
Bruins vs Canadiens
Nice to see the Bruins immediately bounce back and return to their winnings ways. The data has this one very close so the odds seem about right as I’d also have the slightst leans on Boston (more on form than metrics).
Blues vs Kings
With the way the Kings are I cannot back them on the road in this spot on regulation. The data slightly leans that way. I’d say Kings to win even in OT has the most miniscule of value but I don’t feel comfortable with it.
Wild vs Panthers
A lot of erratic data here especially with some fo the Wilds goaltending. Not sure what to back. Over would be nice but its concerning with the Panthers offense. Of everything so far I don’t hate a little bet on the over.
Oilers vs Capitals
Not really seeing anything in this one. Sorry everyone – a rare Saturday with no tips. I’d actually like the Oilers here but they are hard to back after their last couple games.
No bets from me. I’ve seen so much crap from the NHL that as a better I’m basically ignoring the sport until after the Olympics, and even then, the compressed schedule has created a farce and other sports are there for betters to consider.
I’m finding this with NBA too. There’s variance then there’s just BS.
I’ve had some of my best luck betting props especially in NFL where you can find some soft lines
Yeah I swung to player props in NFL a few years ago and never looked back. My favourite one is WRs 2+ TDs as they are usually about 17/1 so if you win one, its covered for the season for that player.
Cant do the same in NHL or NBA due to players not playing the entire game obviously. I have never been able to crack NHL player props
