0-1 yesterday. Leafs went with the Hildebeast in net, and he played to his nickname with a great performance. Although speaking of beasts, how about Scott Laughton?
Reminds me of when I play NHL on the XBox with a buddy who is much better than me, however for some reason he has never learned face-offs. So I spent like an hour practising them and figuring them out, and I win every single one and it evens it out. And gives me great joy as he gets so mad that I win them all while I declare it’s “just dumb luck”.
Alrighty – anything else noteworthy from last night? Nice win for the Canes. Glad I didn’t have the balls to bet on the Flames. Habs showed the B2B didn’t matter with a big W.
Devils are a lost cause. Oilers did get the win in the erratic one I expected.
Let’s look at Friday:
Blackhawks vs Capitals:
I mean these two just played so no interest. Blackhawks just very slight dogs here. The data is a real head scratcher. Odds probably seem right.
Jets vs Kings:
Jets in a bad way on a B2B but at home against the Kings who have been a bit of a mess. Kings you can generally trust on the road. Worse CF & FF%. Scoring more, coneding less but their xGA is a mess.
With the injuries and uncertainty over who is back etc – happy to pass.
Mammoth vs Blues:
Data wise, this checks all the boxes for a mammoth win. Much better CF & FF%, scoring more, coneding less, xG backs it up, SCG stats similar, PDO about the same, nice HDCF% for Mammoth.
Big game that can get the Mammoth back in a playoff spot. This is one of those plays I am happy to bet because this is a team in the playoff hunt, this is a crucial game for them and if they are a playoff team they win games like this. Simple as that.

No bets today. I can’t read these teams for side or O/U, so props is also off the list. Between St. Louis and the Mammoth, both teams can win sometimes, and both are 5/5 win/lose recently, but the matchups aren’t showing me a reliable pattern.
