Scott: The Canes now know what this series is going to be like and will have to adjust their game and get the series back to even or they are in real trouble. They played their usual game limiting the Knights to only 4 shots in the 1st but they couldn’t keep it up after that.

The sportsbooks still have the Canes as the favorites for game 2 and I’ll go with them to tie the series before it moves to Las Vegas.

I was more confident betting on Game 1 than this followup. Vegas woke up in Periods 2 and 3, and Carolina showed its aces but couldn’t shut down Vegas like it did other teams. Both goalies and defensive lines know the style now and Ehlers-type breakaways will be what Carolina plans for, while Vegas can shut that down and score from anywhere, with good tick-tack-toe. I’m expecting a lot of time with the puck along the boards and close checking with lots of speed. Garbage goals wouldn’t surprise me. Carolina knows they’ll be swimming in molasses if this lose this game, but Vegas would love that.

I’m inclined to only look for “shots” props today. The score may total near 6, but go low or high. Not touching it on this game. Best of luck folks!
