A crucial Game 4. Knights would love to go to Carolina needing just more win, and the Canes will want to log a win in opposition territory.
Here are our thoughts
Scott: McNabb is a beast. He had to go to the hospital after taking a puck to the face and the crowd went crazy for him when he was in the starting lineup. The Canes did what they do best in the 1st period in game 3. They held the Knights to only 2 shots, both from defensemen, when the Knights were at home. Things changed in the 2nd where Marner scored a natural hat trick in 6 minutes. They almost blew a huge 4-0 lead when the Canes scored 3 goals in 39 seconds and they tied it up with 1:39 left to force OT where the Knights won it in double OT 5-4.
This series has been amazing and I don’t see that stopping. I would expect a better game from Andersen after he was pulled in game 3. They have traded wins so far and have had high scoring games. I’ll go with the Canes here and expect a better effort from Andersen.

Graeme: I mean I don’t think I need to write any analysis for this one – its gonna stop happening eventually and if today is the day so be it, but both teams seem to really think offense is just the way to go. Over 6 incl OT

Looking back across playoff results in the last decade, I don’t see any particular scoring total dropoffs in the finals, except in the last game, and today is mid-series. Matched teams that are scoring high, keep scoring high. Gravitating to 5 stays that way, and low scoring stays that way. It’s about the matchup that determines the style of play, and these two teams are highly skilled scoring units with great speed and checking for 200 ft. They’ll press each other into every kind of stress point to the point of fail and open up scoring opportunities.

I agree with a hockey commentator on the radio this morning, that picking a moneyline winner today may be the wrong way to go. Personally, I’d expect Vegas to put on another scoring clinic, but they also need to shut the door; no more allowing Carolina to set up. But Carolina has some very fast sprinters and can take advantage of any open ice.
Picking player props is difficult with all the checking going on.
