9 games yesterday. All games but one were decided by a single goal and 6 of the 9 went to extra time.
Had 1 tip of over 6.5 in the Canes vs Penguins game. The Canes did their part but the Pens did not when the Canes won 5-1.
The Avalanche beat the Capitals 3-2 in OT. Ovechkin scored and joined Gretzky as the only players in NHL history to score 1000 career goals regular season and playoffs combined. The Jets beat the Rangers 3-2 in a shootout, Isles beat the Jackets 1-0 in one of the most boring games ever.
Knights beat the Stars 3-2, Flames beat the Lightning 4-3 in overtime, Sabres were down 4-2 after the 2nd but managed to tie it and force OT where the lost 6-5 to the Ducks.
A slow day today with only 1 game. It’s rough as I don’t work today but I do tomorrow and there is 15 games scheduled.
Senators vs Rangers
These teams last played on January 14th and the Sens won that 8-4.
The Rangers played yesterday and lost to the Jets 3-2 in a shootout. They are on a 4 game losing skid.
The 10th place Sens are 3 points behind the Wings who are in 8th. The have been playing well too going 7-2-1 in last 10 and won last 2 in a row. They need to win games like this against teams in the basement.
On the road the Sens have gone 18-13-4 and at home the Rangers have gone 9-18-6. The Rangers started Garand yesterday so I’d expect Shesterkin to start here. He’s capable of going off and winning a game himself. But if the Sens are a playoff team they have to win here. They are better in Corsi, Fenwick, SF/60, SA/60, GA and both expected goals numbers so that’s enough to make a play.
