6 games yesterday.

The Pens did fine without Crosby when they beat the Knights 5-0.  The Blues are in the basement but still beat the Wild 3-1.

The Isles beat the Panthers 5-4 and Schaefer became the 4th rookie defenseman to score 20 goals afterhe scored twice.  The Sharks beat the Jets 2-1 in overtime and the Ducks beat the Flames 3-2 in a shootout.

6 games tonight.

Wings vs Predators

The Wings are right in the mix.  They are in the first wild card spot but are only 2 points behind the Sabres who are in 2nd in the Atlantic.

The Preds are in 9th place in the West.  At this point they can only hope to catch the wild card spot as they are 18 points back of 3rd in the Central.

I like the Wings and I see them as a playoff threat but going 4-4-2 in last 10 has me off of them for tonight.

Jackets vs Rangers

Jackets have lost their last 2 games.  They are in 10th in the East and are 5 points back of the final wild card spot.

The Rangers are in last place in the Eastern Conference.  They are 18 points back so although they could still make the postseason it’s all but over for them.

Not touching the Rangers so if betting on this game it would have to be on the Jackets.  I do lean towards them just not a huge fan of their road play.

Flyers vs Leafs

The Flyers are in 12th and 6 points back of 8th.  They have won the last 2 games but are still 4-4-2 in last 10.

The Leafs are a mess.  They have dropped their last 3 games and are in 14th place, 8 points back of the wild card.

I can’t find a reason to back either team here.

Stars vs Canucks

Stars are looking to continue this great run they are on.  They have won 8 games in a row and are only 6 points back of the division, and league, leading Avalanche.

The Canucks are a heaping pile of dog shit.  They have lost 5 in a row and are in dead last in the league.  They are 8 points back of the Blues who are in 31st.

Yeah I do like the Stars here but, as expected, so do the sportsbooks.  Stars road record of 18-7-6 is much better than the Canucks home record of 6-17-5.  Stars better CF, CA, GF and yeah they have the advantage across the board.

Stars win in regulation

Hurricanes vs Kraken

Last played on January 10th and the Canes won that one 3-2.

Canes are in 1st in the Metro and have a nice lead over the Penguins.  They are 8-0-2 in last 10 and riding a 5 game win streak.

The Kraken are 6-4-0 in their last 10 games and are in the 8 spot.  They are only 1 point back of the Oilers who are in 3rd in the Pacific and they have played 2 fewer games so they can catch and pass them.

With that said it makes me an bit worried about taking the Canes here.  It would have to be in regulation at least and the Kraken know how important these 2 points are.

Avalanche vs Kings

Avalanche are 5-5 in last 10 which isn’t up to their usual play.  They have been solid all year and that’s why they have such a nice cushion points wise.  The Stars are on fire at the moment on a 8 game streak and are only 6 behind them.  They need to win games like this one against a team who struggles at home.

The Kings are in 10th in the West and only 3 points back of the wild card.  They are 4-5-1 in last 10 but they are bad at home going 9-13-7.

I would obviously lean towards the Avalanche here but with their play of late a regulation has me put off.
