6 games yesterday and our one tip was a win. Had the Stars to win in regulation against the Canucks and they sure did winning 6-1 setting a new franchise record 9th straight win.
The Wings picked up a big win to move them into 3rd in the Atlantic. The Jackets had a 4 goal lead but the Rangers stormed back to take it to overtime where the Jackets did win 5-4. The Leafs lost their 4th in a row losing to the Flyers 3-2 in a shootout and the Avalanche beat the Kings 4-2.
11 games today
Penguins vs Bruins
The Pens are coming off of that 5-0 win against the Knights but will be without Crosby for most of the stretch before the playoffs. They are in 2nd in the Metro but have the same amount of points as the 3rd place Isles with 2 fewer games played.
The Bruins are in 8th in the Eastern Conference and are 4 points back of the Habs who are in 3rd in the Atlantic. Haven’t been great over last 10 going 5-2-3 but have been strong at home going 22-8-1
This could go either way.
Mammoth vs Capitals
The Mammoth are in the wild card and at this point that’ll be what they are aiming for as the Centrals 3rd place team, the Wild, are 14 points ahead of them.
The Caps are in 9th in the East. They are 2 points back of the Bruins but have played 3 games more than them.
The 2 points from this game would be a huge help for both teams. For the Mammoth it would help their chances of staying in and for the Caps it would get them closer.
Panthers vs Devils
Panthers are in unfamiliar territory as they sit in 13th. Lucky for them they are only 6 points out.
The Devils are even lower in the standings coming in at 15th and are 11 points out.
Both teams are 3-7-0 in last 10 so it’s an easy pass for me.
Predators vs Blue Jackets
Don’t like the Preds this year and the Jackets played yesterday so this is a pass.
Knights vs Sabres
Knights have dropped last 2 and are 3-5-2 in last 10. Their road record of 14-10-7 doesn’t give me much hope either. They are still in 1st in the Pacific but have only a 1 point cushion.
The Sabres are playing well winning their last 3 games and are 7-2-1 in last 10. They are in 2nd in the Atlantic, 4 points back of the Lightning and 1 point ahead of the Canadiens.
Despite their struggles I still view the Knights as a threat and I can’t yet bet against them
Blackhawks vs Jets
The Blackhawks are in 14th and the Jets are in 12th in the Western Conference. Easy pass
Sens vs Oilers
The Sens are sitting in 11th in the East and are only 5 points back of the Bruins who are in the final wild card spot.
The Oilers are sitting in 8th in the Pacific but are only 1 point behind the Kraken who are in 3rd.
I looked to see if one team had an edge but it was really close. Oilers better in CF, Sens better CA. Oilers better in SF/60, Sens better in SA/60.
Stars vs Flames
Stars played yesterday.
The Flames are on a 2 game skid and 3-5-2 in last 10. They are in 13th, about 10 points out of the playoffs and a team I’m not touching.
Lightning vs Wild
The Lightning have lost their last 2 games but are still 7-3-0 in last 10. They are fighting for 1st place overall in the East.
The Wild are in 3rd place in the Central which is also 3rd overall on the Western Conference. They too have dropped their last 2 and also have played well in last 10 going 7-2-1.
Big game here for both teams, the Lightning are in 4th overall with 80 points and the Wild are 5th also with 80 points. Too close to call for me.
Canadiens vs Sharks
Habs playing well going 6-2-2 in last 10. They are in the first wild card spot in the Atlantic and only a point behind the 2nd place Sabres.
The Sharks have had a decent season and are sitting in 9th place in the Western Conference. They are only 3 points back and on a 2 game win streak.
I see both teams are scoring over 3 goals per game but both are also allowing more than. I have to pass.
Avalanche vs Ducks
They last played on January 21st and the Ducks won that one 2-1.
Avalanche played yesterday.
The Ducks have won 5 games in a row and are sitting in 2nd place in the Pacific. They are 1 point behind the Knights and 3 ahead of the Oilers.
The Ducks did win the last game against the Avs and the Avalanche did play yesterday but I still can’t bet against them.

I have no confidence in any picks today. The # of back-to-backs, 3in4 days and 4in6 day situations are up again, as usual this season, and even with seven teams having just had 2 days off, the matchups and recent trends just throw contradictory information into the betting jamabalaya and cause muddy prospects. I seek safe harbour, but the NBA isn’t much good today either. I’m really looking forward to a busy trade deadline on Friday, I think many teams are facing a serious reconning, the draft is calling them. Watch for busy trading probably Thursday and Friday.
