A nice day full of hockey yesterday with 8 games.

The Hawks have won 3 in a row when they beat their longtime rivals the Wings 5-1 with Bedard having 3 points.  I hope Team Canada sees how he’s playing and gives the kid a shot at the Olympics.  The Ducks continued their amazing start winning their 7th straight when they beat the Jets 4-1.

The Stars beat the Kraken 2-1 for yet another 1 goal game involving the Kraken.  The Sens beat the Mammoth 4-2 in a game featuring two of the better up and coming teams in the league.  Was a close game but the Canes scored 3 unanswered and beat the Leafs 5-4

Islanders vs Devils

They played twice in the preseason with the Devils winning both with ease.

The Islanders scored 5 goals in their last game which was as many goals as they scored in the 2 games before it combined.

The Devils are on a 2 game win streak, 11-4-0 this season and have gone 7-3-0 in last 10.  At home they are a perfect 7-0-0.

I want to take the Devils but it would have to be in regulation.  The Devils last two games needed extra time so I’m passing.

Predators vs Rangers

The Preds are on an awful losing skid of 4 games, which is the 2nd such skid of the season already.

The Rangers were expected to be worse than they were last season but this is something else.

The Preds on a 4 game skid so theres no way I’m touching them and the Rangers are still winless at home which makes them unbackable too.

Jackets vs Oilers

The Jackets limp into this game on a 3 game losing skid. And the teams they lost against, The Isles, Flames and Canucks, make it even worse as those are 3 beatable teams.

The Oilers are coming off of getting their asses kicked by the Avalanche on Saturday 9-1.  It was the largest margin of defeat on home ice in franchise history.   So yeah, it was an awful game.  They are also on a 3 game losing skid.

Panthers vs Knights

They played once this season and the Panthers won that one 3-0.

The Panthers are clearly missing Barkov and Tkachuk.  They are 7-7-1 this season and 4-5-1 in last 10.  They are missing their 2 best players and their depth is really being challenged here.

The Knights have been soild this season.  They are 7-3-4 and 5-3-2 in last 10 but are on a 2 game losing skid.  Schmid has been good for them since Hill went down and has a 6-1-1 record with a 2.51 GAA and a .901 save percentage.

I would like to think the Knights win this one at home but it would have to be in regulation and its tough to count the Panthers out.
