Only 4 games yesterday.

The Rangers finally have a win at home this season.  They beat the Predators 6-3 and it took them only 18 shots to do so.  The Islanders snuck out a 3-2 overtime win against the Devils.

The Oilers scored twice late in the game to tie it and force overtime against the Jackets where they completed the comeback winning 5-4.  Marchand extended his goal streak to 5 games and the Panthers beat the Knights 3-2.

We have 9 games scheduled for tonight.

Kings vs Canadiens

The Kings have been playing well in last 10 games going 6-2-2.  But they did have 7 games go to extra time last month.  On the road they are 6-1-2.

The Canadiens have also been playing well in their last 10 going 6-2-2.  4 of their last 5 games went to extra time which is tough and at home they have gone 5-1-1.

Both teams same record in last 10 and have success based on where they are playing tonight.  The number of overtimes needed for both teams has me put off of betting on this game.

Capitals vs Hurricanes

The Caps are 7-7-1 this season and are on a 2 game skid.  On the road they have gone 3-3-1.

The Canes on the other hand are on a 4 game win streak and have gone 6-4-0 in last 10.  In Carolina they’ve gone 5-1-0.

The Caps are the top ranked team in GAPG and the Canes are 9th.  For GPG the Caps are 22nd and the Canes 3rd.  So the Caps have been able to keep goals out but this is the Canes who can score and have 18 goals during this win streak.

The Canes have better numbers in CF, FF, SF/60 and GF/60 so I think theres enough here to make it a tip adding in the teams records based on where they are playing.

Stars vs Senators

Well these teams have had similar success this season.

The Stars are on a 2 game win streak, have gone 9-4-3 overall, 6-1-3 last 10 and on the road they’re 4-1-2.

The Sens are on a 2 game win streak, are 8-5-3 overall, 6-1-3 last 10 and in Ottawa they’re 5-2-1.

In seasons past I would say its a Stars win and wouldn’t think twice about it.  But the Sens have shown they are a different team this season.

Leafs vs Bruins

The Leafs are a mess at the moment.   They have lost 2 in a row, are 5-5 last 10 and 1-3 on the road.

The Bruins had a 6 game losing skid earlier in the season but they have fixed it by going on a 7 game win streak.  They are 7-3 in Boston.

Leafs are 5th in GPG with 3.69 and 31st in GAPG with 3.75.  Never good when allowing more than they score.  Bruins are 12th with 3.29 GPG and 24th in GAPG with 3.29.

These teams played each other on Saturday and the Bruins won that 5-3.  With that game so fresh on their minds I would assume they would have a better effort here and maybe the Bruins win streak is in jeopardy.

Flames vs Blues

Both teams are in 8th place in their respective divisions.  They played once this season with the Blues winning that one 4-2.

The Flames are 4-11-2 and the Blues are 5-8-3.  On the road the Flames are 2-7-1 and at home the Blues are 2-4-3.

Nothing I like here so I’m passing.

Sharks vs Wild

Sharks are playing well and are way ahead of schedule in their rebuild.  They’ve gone 7-2-1 in last 10 and are on a 3 game win streak that has them only 1 point behind the Kraken in the Pacific.

The Wild have won their last 2 games and are 4-4-2 in last 10 and 7-7-3 overall.  At home they have gone 4-3-2.  They are another team that is better than their record.

I want to take the Sharks here on pure value alone plus they have a chance.  But, like I said, I think the Wild are due to turn a corner here soon and get back on track.

Ducks vs Avalanche

This is going to be a good game between the top two teams in the league.

The Ducks have been the biggest surprise so far in this young season.  They have won 7 in a row, are 9-1-0 in last 10 and on the road they’re 6-2-1.

The Avalanche have 2 more points than the Ducks but have played one extra game.  They are on a 3 game win streak, are 5-1-4 in last 10 and in Colorado they’ve gone 4-0-2.

I’m not betting on this game but it’s one that I’ll be sure to watch as it should be exciting.

There is value in taking the Ducks and it’s one where I will make the play but I can’t make it a tip.

Jets vs Canucks

Jets on a 3 game skid.  They are better than the 9-6-0 record they have and will eventually catch fire and turn things around.  On the road they have gone 4-3-0.  Perfetti is set to make his season debut which will help them going forward.

The Canucks are 8-8-1 so far. At home they are 3-4-1.  There is something going on with Demko.  It may be a maintenance issue as they aren’t trying to overwork him but I guess we will see.

I want to take the Jets here with the Canucks having issues involving goaltending but the data doesn’t fully support it.  It’s all fairly close with the Jets have a decent advantage in GA/60.

Jackets vs Kraken

Jackets played last night against the Oilers and lost 5-4 in OT.  They are 7-7-1, 5-4-1 in last 10 and on a 4 game losing skid coming into this.  On the road they’ve gone 4-4-1.

The Kraken are 7-4-4.  They have had 7 of their 15 games need extra time which makes it really tough to try and predict them.  At home they have been decent though going 4-1-2.

I have to pass on this one.

Big v

Glad to hear you mention the Ducks. I’ve been riding them hard on this win streak at huge plus money (including taking Gathuier and Leo Carlson for points many times) and it seems like “sports betting twitter” as I like to call the internet gambling space is never talking about them. Seems kinda like buying Bitcoin at the top now but at +180 how do you not blindly take a piece of that.

Even +1.5 at -130 is pretty insane value for the second place team in the league. Almost seems like the square public play is to back the Avs.

Matt Aubrey

The odds on +1.5 on ducks blows me away. Makes you wonder what they know or have calculated for tonight’s outcome?? LOL
