Busy night last night with 9 games.

I had the Canes to win in regulation against the Caps but it was a loss.  Nic Dowd ran into Freddy Andersen and shit hit the fan.  Fights broke out and Stankoven ended up leaking from his brow and the Caps won 4-1.

Stolarz allowed three goals on 10 shots in the first period and didn’t return with an injury and Matthews also left in the 2nd as the Bruins beat the Leafs 5-3.  The Sens lost to the Stars 3-2 in OT but extended their point streak to 6 games

Landeskog scored his first regular season goal since 2022 when the Avs beat the Ducks 4-1, the Sharks beat the Wild 2-1 in OT and the Jets beat the Canucks 5-3.

Only 4 games today.

Rangers vs Lightning

The Rangers finally win a game at home and then head out on the road.  They are 5-4-1 in last 10 and 7-1-1 on the road.  If only they had a decent home record then they would be near the top of the standings.

The Lightning are on a 2 game win streak, 7-2-0 in last 10 and at home they have gone 4-3-0.  Off to a rough start to the year for their standards.

Both teams are low in the standings.  I’m curious to see if the Rangers use that home win to gain some traction.  And the Lightning, who haven’t played since Sunday, could extend their win streak to 3 games with the extra rest.

Very close in Corsi, Fenwick and SF/60 and SA/60.  I just can’t pick a side here.

Oilers vs Flyers

The Oilers really need to get their shit together.  They are 4-3-3 in last 10 and are in 5th place in the Pacific.  On the road they have gone 2-5-2.  They are 18th in GPG and 28th in GAPG.  Having Nugent-Hopkins on the IR isn’t going to help them.

The Flyers are in 4th in the Metro, 6-3-1 in last 10 and also 6-3-1 at home.  2 of their last 3 games went to extra time.

Looking through the data and nothing jumps out enough to give one team enough of an advantage to make a tip out of.

Sabres vs Mammoth

The Sabres are in a slump.  They are on a 3 game losing skid, are 3-3-4 in last 10 and on the road they have gone 0-3-2.  They average 2.67 GPG and 3.27 GAPG.  That’s not going to cut it.

The Mammoth have come back down to earth after that great start to the season.  They too are on a 3 game skid and have gone 5-5-0 in last 10 and 4-1-0 at home

These teams played each other on November 4th and it was a close game which the Mammoth won 2-1 in overtime.

Sabres better in CF, FA and GA/60. The Mammoth are better in CA, FA and GF/60.  It’s another game where I cant find a side with enough to make a play.

Devils vs Blackhawks

Devils are playing well going 11-4-1 this season and 6-3-1 in last 10.  On the road they have gone 4-4-0.  They are tied for 8th in GPG and 12th in GAPG.

The Hawks look like a completely different team so far this season.  They are on a 3 game win streak, are 6-3-1 in last 10 and in Chicago they have gone 3-2-1.  They are tied with the Devils in GPG at 8th and rank tied for 2nd in GAPG.

The Devils have a much better number in CF but they are basically tied in CA. The Devils have slightly better numbers in SF/60 and SA/60.  The Hawks have the advantage in the GF/60 and GA/60.  Looking through the data has taken away all chances I had for a tip today.
