Well a lot of young kids in Toronto got to learn what it’s like to be a fan of sports teams in Toronto, as the Blue Jays lost at the death in Game 7.
Crushing one that – especially because two games in a row, the Jays HAD them. But such an impressive run for the Jays. I really hope they are able to build on it, because attending games was really fun last year – there was just such a diferent, optimistic atmosphere that I haven’t felt in a long time.
1-1 in NHL bets yesterday for a slight loss. Panthers went to a shootout. Annoying they couldn’t bury them in regulation and quite fortunate for me there. Jackets/Blues threatened to but could not quite hit the over. Huge xG in that one of 4.1 for either side, so that one was just down to variance.
Bruins continue a nice little run with a 2-1 win over the Canes. Glad I didn’t take that Penguins play I was looking at. Sharks with the big win over the Avs.

Mammoth vs Lightning
Mammoths nice run ended on the road in Edmonton and now they have returned home they will be looking to keep their impressive home performance going.
They are very slight dogs going intot his one. By the metrics – Tampa slightly better in a few spots. Mammoth scoring more but conceding more, and worse xG stats. About 50/50 odds seem right.
Islanders vs Jackets
Islanders coming off that win over the Caps. They’re going up against the Jackets on a B2B. Their last B2B they thumped the Leafs.
By the metrics – man, it’s quite close, and the xG metrics and GF metrics are allll pointing towards the over.
In a vaccuum, I 100% take the over 6.5 here. However after losing on yesterdays over (although it was the right play), I find it hard to go back to the well. So I will pass purely based on yesterdays Jackets/Blues result.
Flyers vs Flames
Nothing really jumping out here.
Ducks vs Devils
Ducks pretty all over the place right now, Devils are a hard team to hang the old hat on with some erratic results lately and on the B2B. A look at the advanced metrics and yeah I wouldn’t like Devils in this spot anyway. Game could go over but it depends if we see the Devils concede goals with more consistency.
Sharks vs Red Wings
Nothing here. Red Wings the better side but eh in regulation on the road. Not anything I am really interested in.
I did bet on mammoth. Lost that one. So I bet on flyers now to make my Day with sunshine.
