There was 10 games yesterday and half of them needed extra time to be completed.

The Wild beat the Preds 3-2 in overtime after Preds goaltender Annunen knocked the net off its mooring intentionally.  The Ducks beat the Panthers 7-3 scoring 5 unanswered to end the game.

The Canes beat the Rangers 3-0 and the Rangers are now 0-5-1 at home which isn’t going to work.  The Avs beat the Lightning 3-2, the Flyers beat the Habs 5-4 in a shootout and Kings beat the Jets 3-0.

There’s 5 game’s tonight.

Mammoth vs Leafs

The Mammoth played yesterday and beat the Sabres 2-1 in overtime.

The Leafs are 7-5-1 but as I mentioned on Monday, they seem to turn things around and have good months in November.

The Leafs had to score 4 unanswered to get the comeback win against the Pens so I’m a little nervous to take them here.

Blues vs Capitals

The Blues are 2-6-2 in last 10 so not really a team thats backable at the moment. They have gone 2-4-2 at home.

The Caps are 6-5-1 this season, on a 4 game losing skid and have gone 3-4-0 in Washington.

With the Blues playing like shit and the Caps on the losing skid I cant back either team here.

Jackets vs Flames

The Jackets are 7-5-0 season and have gone 4-2-0 on the road.  2 of their last 4 wins needed extra time.

The Flames are 2-6-2 over their last 10 and have gone a bad 1-3-1 in Calgary this season.

I would lean towards the Jackets here but it’s their need of extra time of late that has me worried.

Sharks vs Kraken

The Sharks are 4-6-3 this season.  They beat the Devils in regulation and the Avalanche, Wild and Rangers in overtime.  So the 4 wins they have didn’t come easy.

The Kraken are 6-2-4 this season and have gone 4-0-2 in Seattle.  The Kraken worry me.  They have seen 6 of their 12 games go to extra time.

We would have to take the Kraken in regulation and with all of the extra time they have needed I have to pass.

Blackhawks vs Canucks

Hawks have lost 3 games in a row.  On the road they’ve gone 2-3-2.  They’re averaging 3.00 GPG and 2.85 GAPG.

The Canucks are 7-7-0 this season, 5-5-0 in last 10 and 2-3-0 at home.  They’re averaging 2.71 GPG and 3.21 GAPG.

The Hawks have better numbers in goals and goals against than the Canucks.  The Hawks on the skid and Canucks at .500 I just can’t pick a team here.

I was just looking at the full NHL schedule. The compressed schedule due to the Olympics 19-day break, means players are getting far fewer 2 or 3 day breaks and often playing consistently every other day, with probably more back-to-backs. That’s going to impact the strategies, performances and injury lists as well as throw in far more surprise results. They’re all exhausted all the time. I’m just wary of betting the NHL at all this season. O/U and teams on streaks only, I’m thinking, until the playoffs start.

Dont be too hard on yourself. Your call yesterday for the over on BUF/UTA was a good one given the xG and actualTotals per game of both teams so far

You make a good point though about season/olympics and injuries/energy/etc… makes me think a little more … thanks
