10 games yesterday and I had one tip and it came through. I had the Avalanche to win in regulation against the Sabres and they did 3-1.
The Lightning beat the Bruins 4-3 handing the Bruins their first loss of the season. The Jets beat the Isles 5-2, the Wings beat the Leafs again this time 3-2.
The Wild beat the Kings 4-3 in a shootout, the Flyers beat the Panthers 5-2 with Couturier scoring twice and adding two assists and the Devils beat the Jackets 3-2.
Kraken vs Canadiens
The Kraken are 2-0 to start the season. After losing their first game the Habs have won the last 2.
I would lean towards the Habs here as its their home opener but the Kraken are playing pretty well. Would need to take the Canadiens in regulation and I think this game could be close.
Predators vs Leafs
Both teams played yesterday so I have to skip this game.
Oilers vs Rangers
The Oilers are 1-0-1 with Pickard picking up the win.
The Rangers are 2-2-0 and both losses saw them get shutout at home.
The Rangers are due for a win in New York and maybe they do it tonight. The Oilers looked much better in their last game when they won and took 37 shots.
Lightning vs Capitals
The Lightning played the Bruins yesterday.
The Caps lost their first game but have won the two since.
Both teams have high expectations this season so this should be a good game.
Knights vs Flames
All 3 of the Knights game have needed extra time with one shootout and 2 overtimes.
The Flames won their first game 4-3 in a shootout and have dropped the two games since.
I like the Knights to win here but it would have to be in regulation and as I said, all 3 of their games have needed extra time so I have to pass.
Wild vs Stars
Wild played yesterday and won 4-3 in a shootout.
The Stars are 2-0 beating two strong teams from the Central, the Jets and the Avalanche, and now take on yet another.
Would have to take the Stars in regulation and the Wild are coming off of a shootout win yesterday so I have to pass.
Hurricanes vs Sharks
Canes are 2-0 beating the Devils 6-3 and the Flyers 4-3 in overtime.
The Sharks are 0-2 with both losses coming in overtime.
I like the Canes to win here but it would have to be -1.5 and thats a tough call on the road after winning their last game in overtime.
Penguins vs Ducks
The Pens are 2-1-0 and now head out to California for 3 games.
The Ducks are 1-1 beating the Sharks 7-6 in OT.
I would lean to a Pens win but this is the Ducks home opener so I have to pass.
Seeing many possibilities but few I’m willing to bet on.
1) Minn/Dallas full game OVER 5.0. It will probably go higher, maybe 7+ goals, but that’s obvious in the stats, so “bet against the public”, and I’m hopefully smarter than the average better (cough, gag, trip), so go the other way for more certainty. Both teams are scoring and are full of holes.
2) Oilers to WIN Moneyline. This is a great situation for the Oilers, who are playing reasonably well, are excited with how Mangiapane is helping offense, and are off 2 days of rest. The Rangers have had 1 day off after a back-to-back and were shut out by Washington. The B2B plus 1 day rest is notorious for being the setup that produces the most exhaustion, so I would expect the Rangers to start fading noticeably after the first period.
I’m tempted by the Puckline win too.
