A surprise loss for the Jets yesterday for Scott, as the Kraken thumped them 3-0 here. Jets just looked off – while Seattle did a great job at tightening up the defense. If the Kraken can play a lot more like that it would be huge for them.

Thankfully the Canes/Avs game went over with ease.

Mammoth got a nice road win over the Blues, Islanders continue their streak, and the Habs lost 6-5 to the NHL Refs.

Four games today and we’ve got some B2Bs.

Devils vs Sharks

Alright let’s see here – Devils are hefty favourites against the Sharks, who are coming off that big win over the Rangers last night. OT win on a B2B – in theory they’ll be a tad tired.

Metrics have Devils better CF% and FF%, and much better SF%. But they don’tb ack up the handicap play, which is what it’d have to be (at terrible odds). It’s the offenses – Devils is overperforming so can’t be counted on. By GF% yeah Devils should walk this by like 3 goals – but when you dive into the xG metrics it’s a lot tighter.

If Devils were like 1.90 for the -1.5 I’d give it a play, but at a barely passable 1.71 it’s a pass.

Sabres vs Leafs

Leafs definitely not coming into this on fire. Sabres a bit of a mixed back so far this season and some real high variant performances.

With the high variance of Buffalo, it’s putting me off them. I’d say very slight lean on the over 6 based on the xG metrics.

Blue Jackets vs Capitals

Jackets on a two game winning streak, slight dogs at home top the Capitals who have two road victories to their name this season. Should be some fun with Olivier and Wilson.

Metrics go Caps way a fair bit here – let’s see. Much better CF% and FF%. Their SA/60 is very impressive. Creating a lot of chances while not scoring what they should be – yet – and the Jackets are scoring where they should be.

Jackets piss poor xGA/60 but goaltending helped them. Their SCGF/60 stands out though.

Similar to the potential Pens play last weekend – I’m looking for that one thing that will put me over and back the Caps. I really like them here – I just think the odds are pretty much dead on.

No play, but the strongest of leans.

Jets vs Flames

Not touching due to the dual combo of the Jets B2B and both teams having just played. In a vaccuum based on the metrics I probably wouldn’t touch the Jets there anyway. Their xGA so far this season is brutal and we are going to see many more teams light them up.

I couldn’t agree with you more about the Jets. I have no clue how they expect to win or get anywhere if they continue to allow teams to get the shots on goal that they do. It’s very disappointing to see yet again this season. When the hell are they gonna actually play and defend in front of their goaltenders???? anyways going to an OHL game tonight and then watching the Jays on the Jumbotron afterwards…. should be a good night 🍺

I think going for the Devils -1.5 is fine, actually I think 1.80 is a real good price.

They got swept by the lowly Sharks last year. With things going as good as they are, it’s as good of a time as any to rectify that.

Sharks might be tired which doesn’t help them, but more importantly I doubt this team can string together 2 wins right now. Devils won’t be as bad as the Rangers were and Sharks still gave up 5.

If they somehow don’t win this game clean, then it’s one of those “just can’t get up for this team” type of things, but this has the potential to be a blowout for sure.
