The Caps proved me wrong and came out swinging, winning their first game 5-2. The Rangers won their 2nd in a row beating the Wings 2-0.
The Bruins are 2-0 after beating the Jets 4-3 in overtime, the Blues shutout the Stars 4-0 and the Ducks held on to beat the Knights 4-3 after being up 4-0.
Still not much to go on so writeups will be short. 13 games tonight.
Senators vs Maple Leafs
Battle of Ontario games are normally good games.
This is the Sens first game. The Leafs are 1-1 after losing to the Habs and beating the Isles.
Nothing from the Sens yet so not touching them and the Leafs haven’t been good yet so passing on this one.
Blackhawks vs Sabres
The Hawks haven’t shown any life yet losing both of their games so far.
The Sabres lost their first game against the Jackets and are now at home.
I would expect a Sabres win here. The sportsbooks do too. Would have to take them in regulation to get any value. Just not enough faith in them this early in the season.
Capitals vs Lightning
The Caps played yesterday and the Lightning didn’t look good in their first game losing 5-1 to the Rangers. Easy pass for me here.
Canadiens vs Penguins
The Canadiens beat the Leafs 3-2 in game 1.
The Penguins kicked the ass off of the Flyers in their first game winning 7-0.
I think the Habs will have a decent season this year and I think they should win this game. But after the Pens won their first game against their biggest rivals and did it with ease they are going to have momentum. I’m playing it safe.
Mammoth vs Jackets
Both teams come into this game after winning their season opening games.
The Mammoth pounded the Hawks 6-0 and the Jackets beat the Sabres 6-3. Obviously beating the Sabres was a tougher task.
Not sure who wins this game.
Hurricanes vs Flyers
The Canes lost their first game 1-0 against the Panthers in overtime.
The Flyers got rocked 7-0 in their first game and came back with an OT loss to the Devils.
Would lean towards a Canes win but they didn’t look very convincing in game 1 so maybe it’s recent seasons success that has me swayed.
Kraken vs Oilers
The Kraken scored 6 goals in their first game and are 1-0 this season. The Oilers are 1-0-1 with both games going to OT and they scored 14 times over those 2 games.
This game could go either way and based on the small sample we have this could be a high scoring game.
It’s at 6.5 and I am tempted with the over but there’s no way any team can keep up this scoring pace so I have to skip.
Devils vs Islanders
The Devils won their first game in overtime 3-2 against the Flyers.
The Islanders lost their first game against the Leafs 2-1.
The Isles have beat the Devils in the last 5 meetings going back to April 2025. I would lean towards the Devils here but the results of those games has me off of them here.
Bruins vs Wild
The Bruins played yesterday.
The Wild got off to a quick start in their first game and coasted to the win.
I would lean towards a Wild win but not enough data to go by so have to pass.
Stars vs Predators
The Stars played yesterday and lost 4-0 to the Blues.
The Predators lost 3-1 to the Wild in their first game.
With the Stars playing yesterday its hard to back them and the Preds not looking very good in game 1 has me off of this game.
Blues vs Avalanche
The Blues played last night and won 4-0.
The Avalanche beat the Kings with ease in their first game and MacKinnon looked awesome.
I know it’s early in the season but MacKinnon looks like he’s playing at a mid-season level already. Plus they are still at home. I want to take the Avs but it has to be -1.5 and the Blues may build off of shutting out the Stars
Kings vs Sharks
The Kings got rocked in their first game losing 8-4 to the Avalanche.
The Sharks won their first game 4-3 in overtime to the Panthers.
Not seeing the Kings as a threat this season and the Sharks are heading in the opposite direction.

Flames vs Canucks
The Flames got rocked in their first game of the season losing 6-1 to the Kraken.
The Canucks are 1-1 and have scored 13 goals so it’s been a crazy start to their season.
Tough to call anything on the Flames and the Canucks season has been unbelievable so far.
