The Tampa Bay Lightning got off to a surprisingly great start to their playoff battle against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

A lot of people said that Tampa would need Bishop to step up huge to stop the Pens, but Bishop made just 9 saves before getting taken off injured. Vasilevskiy stepped in and did a solid job as the Lightning went up 1-0 in the series.

The Western Conference Finals begins on Sunday, May 15th with the San Jose Sharks taking on the St. Louis Blues.

Let’s get to the series betting tips for that one:

Blues vs Sharks Series Betting Predictions:

Scott:  Nither team has won a Stanley Cup and the Sharks have never made it to a finals before.  This is going to be a tight series.

The Sharks are scoring almost 3.50 goals per game during the playoffs but i cant see that continuing against the Blues and their strong D. The Blues held the high scoring Stars to 2.00 goals per game.  They have everything going for them right now. They can score, play defense and are getting great goaltending from Elliott.  This will be a good, close series and I can see it going to 7 games.  But it’s the Blues physical play that will give them the advantage with home ice

Blues win

Graeme: The Blues are slight favourites in this one. They’ve overcame two tough tests in the Chicago Blackhawks and Dallas Stars. The San Jose Sharks did beat the Kings but boy did they struggle against the Predators.

These should be some excellent games. Last time they met was in 2012 and the Blues won that series 4-1.

I’ve also got to take the Blues to win.
