It was quite the thrilling night of hockey last night.

It started off strong with goal fests in both the Ducks game and the Blackhawks game. Both games were just fantastic to watch early on and they were both tight games with the road teams coming out ahead.

The Coyotes pulled off the upset against the Leafs, and Winnipeg fought back big to take out the Panthers. The Wild stepped up again and what’s impressive is how little shots they got on net against Rinne.

We had no tips last night so of course every single thing we were leaning towars actually won. Figures. In saying that, only the Ducks/Bruins over was a dominant one. The Hawks pick was based on Darling playing tight and he didn’t exactly do that last night and both Coyotes and Jets relied on shootouts. So while they all won they were still close enough that they could have gone either way.

Some lovely weather in Kingston at the moment:

Fun stuff. And now a ton of snow is predicted over night. Sounds like the perfect weekend to stay at home and just watch sports. So pumped for the Super Sage fight.

Note for Americans that for the NHL betting at 5Dimes be sure to look under “Reduced”.

Penguins vs Kings Betting Tips:

My only real concern about this one is low scoring in past games. Only 1 game in the last 9 meetups between the two has went Over 5.5 goals. That was back in 2015 when the Kings won 5-3 at home.

But based on recent performances of the teams, I’ve got to take the Over here. The Penguins have went Over 5.5 every game this month and you have to go back to November 19th for their last under. The Kings have had a few solid games from the goaltending and defensive end of things but are usually going over. Both offenses are on fire at the moment and we may have the bonus of a rusty Fleury in net although either goalie is fine with me. Letang is out too.

Over 5.5 Goals

Everyone Else: 2.06 Odds at Pinnacle Sports.

Flames vs Blue Jackets Betting Tips:

I’m going to go with the Calgary Flames to bounce back after their loss to Tampa a couple of nights ago.

They were on a nice winning run prior to that game and I think the break hurt them. The momentum was gone and they just looked overall sloppy.

I’ve liked what I have seen from Calgary this season and I feel they match up well with the Jackets. Jackets are doing well of course but the Flames got that big 2-0 win in Columbus last month and they play a style which I think can frustrate the Jackets.

I’m going with the home underdogs tonight – Calgary Flames to win incl OT/SO if Johnson is in net.

Canada: 2.10 Odds at Sports Interaction + $20 Free Bet.
USA: +110 Odds at 5Dimes.
Everyone Else: 2.05 Odds at Bet365.

Canucks vs Lightning Betting Tips:

Tampa are pretty big favourites on the road but I’m not sold on them yet. Of course I can’t back the Canucks either especially after that Hurricanes game. They’re just not a team you can count on.

Both teams are brutal on defense at the moment. The Tampa offense has been looking good in the last two games though and the 5-1 loss at home to Vancouver will be fresh in their memory.

I’m going with Over 5 incl OT/SO.

Canada: 1.80 Odds at Sports Interaction + $20 Free Bet.

No plays yet, still analyzing the data today, BUT last night was epically awesome. 5-0 in the NHL, 1-0 in the NFL, and I nailed a 4 team parlay (Hawks/Wild/Blues/Rangers all in regulation)! I think sides are going to be tough to pick today, but I do see a couple totals I like.

    • Mirko Presen

What are your thoughts on Calgary tonight can they bounce back or is Cbj to tough ,cause they played probably the most consistened hockey?

      • Orhan Cypriot Ugurcag

At this moment in time I dislike betting against the Jackets and after the Flames recent loss maybe some of their heat will cool off.

    • DawsonArkiri

5-0 but you haven’t posted anything on the site yesterday ๐Ÿ˜›

      • BlueLineBets

Except I did post one pick here (under in AZ/TOR game) and the rest of my picks are documented on my website (the link in my twitter profile @BlueLineBets). Also tweeted out a pic of the “winning outcome” from my bookie site on my twitter account of the parlay.

        • Ishau Sinmi

He probably meant you didn’t share your picks here like Lion and many others do. Maybe you make him understand it goes for a fee.

          • Stats Guru

You are exactly correct Ishau. Some come here to promote their own subscription FEE BASED pick “service”. Understanding how difficult and time consuming it is to own, operate and maintain a website, I find it unsettling when others soar in and attempt to direct traffic away from a site – without adding anything to conversation – except to brag about their wins from the night before. Puck betting fans come here to get the opinions of the creators of this site, and to add their own opinions, while viewing those of others. Not all the picks are correct, and some are more aggressive than others, but I believe it is wrong to leach off someone else’s hard work for your own personal gain.

          • Ishau Sinmi

So true…every time they do that, it appears to me like a total stranger asking me if I remember an experience from his childhood. How can you say you won X-0 when we never even saw what you picked. Agreed we’re all trying to make money, but asking for a fee from us, might be a touch too extreme.
Big ups to Lion and all others who give freely, you guys are GREAT

          • Stats Guru

Plus Scott and Graeme deserve credit for providing a free service. They are doing it right as they collect “affiliate fees” from the bookmakers – who are making the most money. Bothers me even more when people prop up winning advice and conveniently forget to mention their losing advice.

          • ya I understand and I have a service also but when I post I do normally put my pick ideas or if I agree or disagree… He has still the right to have one but ya seems silly if you dont post your picks . but they cant ban people from doing that… on facebook Im even admin on some groups and if people want to promote which is fine has to give at least one free pick… because the main thing is to share tips and information between each other. I feel for you

          • Graeme (BetNHL.ca)

We ban people every day here who come purely to link to their own sites/Twitter etc. ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s all about whether they’re contributing or not. If we feel they’re purely using the comments to promote their sites and aren’t contributing they’ll be banned.

  • Johnny Hockey

Last night: 4-0 | Thx for your nice comments! ๐Ÿ˜‰

At first just thoughts (I will edit this post later – For my final choices):

    > Pens/Kings OVER 5.5
    > Sabres in regulation or OVER 5.5
    > Flames/Jackets OVER 5.0
    > Canucks/Lightning OVER 5.0
    > Also thought about the Caps in regulation – But @Caroilna this could be a tough one!
    > Habs/Sharks = NO CLUE! Maybe going with the Value (Sharks to win) here

  • Mirko Presen

Last night was 5-1 so tonight i am going with something like this , will still edit some picks.

    Pittsburgh reg
    Montreal ML
    Washington ML

    Calgary-Cbj over 5
    Buffalo-Nyi over 5

    GL all!

  • Smoking Barrel

I think that Penguins, Tampa going Over might be good picks. What do you think about Avalanche-Panthers going over 5,5?

  • Rumen

Is Carey Price in net for Montreal tonight? Or Sharks can beat them on the road regardless?

    • Henry Del Valle Sr.

Yes. Price is confirmed in net!

  • Ishau Sinmi

I’m going for Peng/Kings Over 5.5 as well

  • Arto Reinikainen

    Tonights picks

    Project Lion 2/15 (+1.8U)

    Capitals in regulation

    ———————————

    Other picks i like:

    Sabres handicap -1.5
    Kings-Pens OT
    Sharks-Habs OT
    Flames in regulation
Canucks in regulation and/or Over 5

    GL !

    • AaronAllaway

I don’t get why you keep posting as “Lion project”? Its actually not your project haha

      • Michael Sexton

Lion ยดs project can play everyone lol. Thats why it is called lion project

      • lion

Its where the idea came thats why its so. People make their own decision there. Not mine. I believe Art will make it

      • Arto Reinikainen

It’s just the name of that “challenge”, as i belive Lion started it first so people call it that so the rules are clear ๐Ÿ˜€

      • lol its funny but no… I follow my project.. the lion belongs to the king of the jungle xD . But I do like to see his opinions even if I can disagree

    • Arto Reinikainen

      I hate OT’s

  • Henry Del Valle Sr.

    Im going with:

    BUFF ML
    Buff/NYI Over
    LAK/Pitt Over
    MTL ML

    Good luck all!

  • magus1349

    • Orhan Cypriot Ugurcag

      100%?

      • lion

Did not you read the answer yesterday? โ˜บ I ll write it here again. %100 comes from my works and feelings.

  • Caesium

    Sabres in reg @ 2.03

    December: 9/15 +4.75

    GL to all!

  • Mojo

Two best bets tonight I think are MTL ML and Calgary/CLB O5. Don’t know how that total isn’t 5.5

  • Orhan Cypriot Ugurcag

Today’s games are quite hard to predict only comfortable picks so far for me are Habs (ML) and Pens (ML) *Update*

Some other possible picks are Lightning and Jackets, but there isn’t much value.

    • Mojo

Kings don’t scare you against shaky Pitt goaltending and a weakened D without Letang?

      • Orhan Cypriot Ugurcag

Could be a problem, but Penguins are super hot at the moment and Kings aren’t a good road team this season, Goalie problems are also quite an issue with the Kings right now too, I mean there’s value in the odds, but i’m not sure they have what it takes against pens tonight. I wouldn’t say shaky goaltending though, Murray has been good.

  • Canucklehead

    Project Lion – 1/15

    San Jose @ Montreal Under 5 (-120)

    โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”

  • Orhan Cypriot Ugurcag

    Wow the Habs getting dominated.

  • Rumen

Oh wow I am lucky I didn’t touch the Montreal ML line as tempting as that was.
