Well that’s more like it!  Last night we had a perfect 3-0 night.

The first tip of the night was the Stars to win in regulation against the Hurricanes.  This turned out to be far closer than I had thought.  The Stars jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first, they traded goals in the 2nd and then in the 3rd the Canes scored 4 straight to tie the game at 5 with just over 6 minutes left.  A late penalty gave the Stars a final minute powerplay and with 19 seconds left Sharp scored to give the Stars the 6-5 lead and win.

The second tip was the Islanders to beat the Flyers and this was yet another close game.  This game needed a shootout to be decided but it was the Isles coming away with the 4-3 win.

The third and final tip was the Blues to beat the Coyotes in regulation.  The Blues were down 1-0 heading into the 2nd but they scored 2 goals in both the 2nd and 3rd and held the Coyotes scoreless the rest of the way to pick up the 4-1 win.

The Hawks beat the Preds 4-1 and Kane scored an empty net goal to extend his point streak to a franchise record 23rd game. The goal was his 600th career point. As a Hawks fan this is fun to watch but he has a long way to go to catch Wayne Gretzky and his NHL record for point streak at 51 games.

A bit slower night with only 4 games but let’s start a winning streak with the NHL Betting Tips for Wednesday, December 9th

Penguins vs Avalanche Betting Tips:

Pascal Dupuis has had to call it a career.  After tearing his ACL in December of 2013, he developed blood clots in his lungs and had been taking blood thinners ever since. There comes a time where you need to start worrying about your life after hockey and for Dupuis that time is now.

While the loss of one of their forwards is going to hurt, they’re supposed to get their best defensemen back tonight when Kris Letang returns.

He’s going to give them a much needed boost and the Pens need that to snap their 2 game losing streak.

The Avs are playing great hockey at the moment winning 3 of the 4 games played in December.

I can’t see the Pens losing a 3rd in a row and the return of Letang is only going to help them.  The have had success against the Avs going 7-3 over their last 10 games against them.

Rangers vs Canucks Betting Tips:

These two teams are in the top half of the league in goals per game so offense isn’t a problem.

Both teams are coming off of wins which will give them some confidence after struggling in the games before it.   They’ll both be looking to start winning streaks so this should be a good close game as it is most times when they play each other.

SanDiegoBruinsD

ML: Habs, Oilers, Pens
NYR/Nucks over
single bets and 2-way parlay

Tony

Habs are the best bet today to break their bad skid against the Bruins imo.

traveler

Hell no 3.00 is a good odd for Bruins. I’ll also go with SJ and NYR=€

Tony

Montreal to win. 1.5 units.
Sharks Oilers over 5. 1 unit.
Colorado to beat the Penguins half unit value bet, as I have it at a flip basically.

dusan

who will be winner?

dusan

Pittsburgh
Edmonton
NY Rangers

Does anyone have a better idea?

yferz

Could you maybe give estimate of the bet win probability?

Tony

Penguins have fair chance
Rangers I think will win
Reckon sharks will beat Oilers tonight though, but the price isn’t there for me to bet them.

Graeme

I personally like the Oilers tonight. I always watch their games and these last few games I’ve seen a team that has a ton of confidence in Nilsson – to the point they can actually go out and play as opposed to their usual “oh crap the other team has the puck we’re gonna be 1-0 down” mentality.

It’s been refreshing to see. That coupled with Sharks losing last night and surely tired has me betting on Edmonton.

Tony

I didn’t look hugely into the game in all fairness. It was just one that I had to take the over on with the line at 5 before, but I didn’t really want to take a chance on either side winning with the prices.
The oilers should be fresh and have had a few nice results recently, but I had the Sharks at about 53% on computer calculated and would hope they will come out and try and bounce back from a poor result against the flames. Losing 4 in a row I think they’ll want this oportunity to try and stop the skid against a beatable side.

Even with the oilers being underdogs, the price still seems too low for me. But they definitely seem like a better side than the usual.

Either way it will be very interesting to see how they get on as ex Sharks coach first game in charge against his old team

Tony

Yferz-
Most estimated win percentages of the bets will be just over 50% up to maximum about 60% usually to be honest I would think.
Although when the top teams play ones who are the worst, they will win a lot, it’s still less than you think.
You only have to win slightly more than the prices you are betting at to make a profit.
The price is usually a good indicator of how likely you think they are to win, because you shouldn’t bet it if the price is lower than the probability of the result. This would be negative expected value.

Congrats on going 3-0 last night! Must have breathed a sigh of relief when the Stars scored the 6th in reg & the NYI won the SO. Hard to call the Oilers/Sharks game. The Oilers are motivated to win for McLellan and it helps that he knows the Sharks but the Sharks have won the last 3/4 & 5/7 against the Oilers. The Pens have the advantage in goal and if they can keep Duchene off the board then they’ve got a chance. Still think it’s a tossup. Good luck tonight!

Marc Lachance

Boston/Edm/NY/Pits all money lines. I have very good reasons for each games!

Cry

I got a hunch, Rangers will loose tonight.

dusan

is true
