A very high scoring night of hockey last night. But the big news of the night was in the Ottawa Senators game. Not only did they lose the game 4-2 they lost the defending Norris trophy winner and their best player Erik Karlsson. In what some may consider a hit from behind by Matt Cooke, Cooke also had his left skate up and when he came down his foot landed on the back of Karlssons leg, cut his leg and ended Karlssons season. With Karlssson joining Spezza and others who won’t be back for the rest of the season things aren’t looking good for the Sens.
A half dozen games on the schedule for tonight including a few that stand out: The Islanders take on the Rangers, the Leafs are at the Hurricanes and the Capitals look to grab another win when they face off against the Lightning.
Also Happy Valentines Day to all the lovely lady’s who visit BetNHL.
Now on to the tips for February 14th
Capitals vs Lightning: Over 5.5 Goals
This game features a bunch of talented players on two teams who can score and do it often. Both teams had yesterday off. On Tuesday both teams played and both games needed extra time to be decided: Tampa Bay lost in a shootout and Washington Capitals won in overtime. The Lightning need this to snap the 5 game losing skid they are on and the Caps need this to extend their winning streak to 3 games.
I’m not sure who will win this game but I’m betting on that the game will have at least 6 goals scored during it and that’s why you should bet the Over 5.5 at Bodog where the Odds for Over are currenty at -105. But as be sure to check out and bookmark Our NHL Live Betting Odds to ensure you are getting the best odds available
Maple Leafs vs Hurricanes: Leafs to Win
Right now 888 Sports has the odds for a Leafs win at +135. The Leafs, who have played one more game then the Hurricanes, have more points then them so far this season and are also coming into this game riding a 4 game win streak.
And with the Odds set at +135 this is a can’t miss tip that’s just to good to not take a stab at. Not sure what is going on in Toronto right now but they are playing the best hockey they have in years, are rolling 4 lines and are getting contributions from everyone.
Avalanche vs Wild: Wild Puck Line -1.5
Both of these teams are in need of wins and badly. Minnesota went out and acquired the two most coveted free agents that were available and really need to start winning or those moves may turn out to be the most costly mistake in Wild history. The Avs are doing just terrible this season and although they are loaded with young talent, they just can’t seem to get themselves out of the basement.
Look for the Wild to win by 2 or more goals in this game and if you agree, which you should, then head over to JustBet and take advantage of their incredible odds for the Minnesota Wild -1.5 Puck Line at +200.
