It’s a big night in hockey for me and Scott, as the Chicago Blackhawks take on the Montreal Canadiens.

Despite the Blackhawks current run, and the Habs poor form with Price out – the bookies have this one as a pickem basically – with no team favourited.

As always, we have a bet of beer and wings on the game. Which doesn’t sound too bad until you realize that we drink a LOT of beer and eat a LOT of wings and we’re essentially betting on a $200 bar tab.

It was a slight losing night with the tips as the Panthers/Flames went Over 5 – although not in the way expected, however the Bruins couldn’t quite overcome the Flyers.

Glad we stayed off the Leafs and it’s going to be very interesting to watch the Leafs and how they continue to play. Also whether or not the Jackets turn things around now. All it takes is one game.

The Panthers are another interesting team to watch after last nights destruction. You have to wonder if they’re going to pick themselves up from that. They have one more game on the road trip against Tampa, before they return to Florida for a “gimme” when they play the Edmonton Oilers.

Despite a decent selection of games tonight it’s a very tough night when it comes to betting. There are no 1st period plays today. Here’s what we’ve got:

Capitals vs Canucks Betting Tips:

The line for this one is 5 goals and I don’t believe these two have had a meeting this century where it has went under 5 goals.

Miller is back for the Canucks which is nice – but Markstrom actually has a better record than him and he’s got a hell of a offense to go up against.

Capitals are one of the top scoring teams in the league at home. They only concede 2.05 goals a game at home which is slightly concerning but it’s hard to see this game going under 5 goals.

Over 5 goals.

Blackhawks vs Canadiens Betting Tips:

Both of us agreed that the Blackhawks are good value here at the odds. They’ve had some luck and are due for a loss – but they always seem to be up for games against the Habs and sweeped them last season.

Montreal just haven’t shown anything lately to suggest betting them and I just can’t justify the odds for them here. And hey if I’m wrong – I’ll make up for it with wings on Sunday! It’s win-win.

Blackhawks to win.

Islanders vs Rangers Betting Tips:

Obviously a big game – but Girardi looks to be out for the Rangers. Even if he does play he won’t be healthy.

These games are tricky because the goalies step up their games here, but we like the Islanders record especially at home and like them to get a huge win tonight.

Islanders to win.

My martingale strategy with Panthers was finished with 9 units profit. Time to play against Blackhawks.
Picks for tonight : Habs, Jets, Red Wings and Sharks.

ET

Van/Caps
In last 5gms: Caps have scored a minimum 3 goals 5x & Miller has a 2.74GA; Canucks have scored 3 goals 2x in last 5gms & Holtby is 1.93GA; Could be tight but 1 more goal by either team…the line for total team goals for Caps isn’t posted yet, but if it’s +2.5 with good odds that’s another option;
Chi/Mtl:
Habs have had 4dys off which could help or hurt them but it’s hard to go against the Hawks at these odds;
Hawks have 4/5W vs Habs; In last 5gms, they’ve scored 3 goals 5x & given up 3 goals once; Other options if the odds are good: Chi total team goals (if set at +2.5) & Chi scores 1st;
*Habs have alternated wins & losses in last 5gms & under this cycle: Habs are due for a win…

NYR/NYI
IMO game could go either way but the Isles have the edge;
Isles are 6-4-0 vs NYR; Lundquist has 4L & 3.78GA vs NYI; ; Halak has -2.00GA in last 5gms vs NYR & Girardi’s absence at+8 will help Isles;
*NYR have alternated wins & losses in last 5gms and under this cycle they’re due for a loss…
In the Rangers favour: Isles will be missing Boychuk +9 & Hamonic +0; Good luck tonight!

Like the picks boys. I got clobbered last night for the second night in a row so I’m due for some wins. Cats WTF?

Here’s my bets today:

Nucks/Caps over

Blackhawks ML

Blackhawks/Habs O5

Blackhawks O2.5

Red Wings ML – both teams have been on a tear, but Detroit has been a beast on the road. They are a more talented and experienced team and are rested.

Red Wings/Yotes O5 (probably a push but both teams can score)

Red Wings O2.5 value bet, I’m betting on EN or OT

Avs ML – Avs are going to come out with high compete level after losing 2 in a row and Devils bench is decimated. These guys are all out:
Jordin Tooto
Bobby Farnham
John Moore
Michael Cammalleri
Jiri Tlusty
Tuomo Ruutu

Devils/Avs O5 – Avs will score 3+ and Devils will get 2 off of Pickard

Avs O2.5

good luck boys

Pepa

I go with Blues,Predators and Over 5,5 Rangers/Islanders tonight.

I am not agree with you at all guys.
Montreal Canadiens will bit Blackhawks today. I think they will not only bit but destroy them.
In other hand I trust to predators today. I think they will bit jets as well.
Good luck!

Also about Rangers game. Rangers are good at the moment. Just unlucky. I wouldnt pick for islanders win.
