Sorry about the delay in tips today guys. I was picking up my new phone (Galaxy S7 Edge) and I decided to pop down to the store first to do that.

Unfortunately it ended up being one of those retail nightmares that took absolutely forever and I was stuck in the store for over an hour and a half. Now I’m home and I just want to get my phone all set up AND play the new Hitman game. But NHL Tips come first!

Sorry for no OHL tips yesterday – Bodog & Bovada for whatever reason didn’t list the odds for handicaps etc. I kept checking throughout the day.

Panthers vs Flyers Betting Tips:

It’s really hard to buy into the Flyers at the moment. They’ve had 6 out of 7 incredible games and their form looks to be continuing on the road with that win over the Tampa Bay Lightning. But you still just keep waiting for things to go back to the usual Philly way.

They’re going up against the Panthers tonight who have struggled in recent times but are coming off that nice win over the Ottawa Senators.

However the big thing here is the price. The Flyers are an incredible price considering the way both teams are playing. I understand the odds – Panthers have became a pretty solid squad at home – but I just think they’re still a bit too high.

This is one of those bets where I do expect to lose it more than I win, but I feel there’s enough value that I’m going for it. Your call if you want to jump on.

Flyers to win.

Leafs vs Senators Betting Tips:

These two went just 5 goals last time they played. But I think we go Over 5.5 for the majority of their games as they always have the ability to heat up with both teams rising to the occassion.

Over 5.5 Goals.

(Our 1st period systems are based on 3 levels of confidence that the system has for each pick. Ideally all 3 systems will be winners long runs, with the high confidence system doing the best but with the least amount of picks etc)

1st Period System High Confidence: Los Angeles Kings 2.35, San Jose Sharks 2.85.

Panthers to win. Other good Picks Bruins, Toronto, and Nashville

    • traveler

      I’ve bet for Rangers also

    • Indieja

Bruins, as in the game several hours ago? Great pick. I also find it’s easier retroactively.

  • magus1349

    Flyers, Habs and Sharks.

    • John

Habs ? keep in mind that Subban, Eller, Gallagher are not playing

      • John

        Tonight lines:
        Pacioretty-Galchenyuk-Andrighetto
        Hudon-Plekanec-Byron
        De La Rose-McCarron-Mitchell
        Lessio-Danault-Brown

      • traveler

That scares me a little that Subban is away, because that could be good for the toilet seat, so they could get an advantage but hope not.

    • traveler

Habs wont win any any point tonight ๐Ÿ˜›

  • Arto Reinikainen

Bruins ML + Sabres ML combo looking good, hopefully it clicks so my losses are cut from last night ^^

That being said for the past 5 nights or so i’ve been tweaking my computer system (which i use to help me much like betnhl.ca does) and it can mess up my picks quite a bit. Although i went off to a like 8/10 start with it, lately it hasn’t been as good.

Im going to post my picks a probably like half an hour before the games start, but keep in mind they could go really good or really bad, as i feel like there’s no middle ground at the moment.

    • GGrox

And both got right this time!! Gutted i couldnt follow as the matches started early and i didnt knew it ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ darn! Waiting for tonights pick then Arto ๐Ÿ‘

      • Arto Reinikainen

Yeah luckily, that Buffalo game was close. But that’s the funny thing about the NHL, it’s a deadly league to bet if you overreact to losses and try to chase wins, but it can be a really good league to bet if you just keep your composure and stick with what’s been working in the past. After 6 years of betting almost every single night and trying to predict every game, losing don’t feel as bad anymore as i know it’s going to turn around sooner or later.

That being said im always trying to improve. Like last night, i felt like that Flyers game especially was one i should’ve known and that had great value too.

Hopefully i’ll find something good for you tonight ! But keep an eye out for other posters as well because i don’t have 100% confidence in my picks atm, just have to wait and see how my new system pans out in the long run.

        • GGrox

sure buddy! ๐Ÿ™‚ can’t wait. will check some stats and check with other posters.. lets see if I can pull something good off tonight with the help ๐Ÿ˜€

Is there a way to bet 1st periods on BetOnline? I haven’t been able to figure out how. I don’t even see a +/- 1/2 option for first periods. Thanks

    • BetNHL.ca

Yep. When you choose Hockey and it lists all the games, in the red bar at the top centre of the page it says:

      Select Period: Game 1st Period

Click 1st Period. All listed there.

      • Brandon

Would have never found that without your help! Much appreciated!

  • lion

    Tonight picks,

    Senators win %90
    Predators win %75
    Avalanche win %80

    Good luck!

    • Indieja

      Why Avs?

      • lion

        They had to win.

    • traveler

      Sens win 0 %
      Preds win 100 %

      • Arturs

        why sens 0% win??

  • Aaron Weafer

    I like Sens and Caps.
I was second guessing myself when it comes to the Caps with how poor their record is against the Sharks but after only just losing, the Sharks awful home record and the value on the money line, I just couldn’t ignore it.

  • Nhl

    My Picks for today are
    NYI
    DET
    BUF
    COL
    MIN
    OTT
    FLA
    DAL
    NSH
    EDM
    LA
    WSH

  • Arto Reinikainen

    Wild ML 90%
    Avs ML 60%

    Value bet: Florida-Colorado OT 50%

Don’t have time to analyze/watch the later games as i have to go bed, just got a call from work so have to get up early.

    Good luck boys.

    • Arto Reinikainen

Can’t sleep lol. Also going for Blues ML.

  • Johnny Hockey

    My thoughts:

    – Sabres vs. Canes Over 5 -> Cashback
    – Sens v. Leafs Over 5.5
    – Oilers in rgulation
    – Wild ML
    – Preds in regulation
    – Flyers ML
    – Caps ML
    – McDavid Over 2 shots at goal
    – McDavid Over 1.5 points

    • Arturs

      1-6… Shouldnt have picked yours.GG

  • Canucklehead

    My thoughts:

    – Avs/Jets – OT
    – Wild/Habs – OT
    – Sens – Reg
    – Panthers – ML
    – Blues/Stars – OT
    – Go Canucks Go (Under)
    – Coyotes – Reg (Wow Value!!)
    – Devils/Kings – OT
    – Caps – ML

I would have taken the Bruins, but would have lost on the Rangers.

    • Arto Reinikainen

Good job, some high values there !!

      • Canucklehead

Thanks man! I’ve never really bet OT’s before, but after those 2 nights where 5 of 6 and 5 of 8 went to OT, its something I’m going to have to start considering. I think as we near the end of the season, there are going to be a bunch of close games as teams try to solidify standings and not give too much up.

  • Indieja

Another night of “WTF”. Good riddance
